Cheney Family Reunion

The Cheney Reunion was August 17-22 and thanks to everyone (mainly my amazing parents) it went amazingly well. I was so excited that i got the chance to go and see all of my siblings and to see all of the grandkids which now total to 12. Coleton had four other cousins that he was dieing to see since all of my married siblings were pregnant at the same time. (Benjamin 5 months, Alexis 5 1/2 months, Coleton 4 1/2 months, Ashley 3 months, and Masen 3 months) All five of them were born within 2 1/2 months of each other. Though the house was a little crazy at times it was a blast! Brandon was unabe to come with us because school had started the week before so Coleton and i flew down on Sunday night. (top left: Benjamin, Coleton, Masen bottom left: Alexis, Ashley) We had different activites through out the day that Grandma Cheney organized and then a few activites from the other families. Some of the little activites that we had to do through out the day was things like kickball at the park, grandkid olypics, Cupcake decorating, making donuts, wii competitions, and crafts that grandma planned. (Left Kari and Alexis, Cristeen and Benjamin, Coleton and me, Marie and Ashley, Caetie and Masen)Then Grandma and Grandpa planned the big activities like Family Home Evening, the annual pinewood derby, hawaiian luau, and the biggest thing was the new pool and deck that was built in the back that constantly had people swimming in it. They spent weeks (of long hours) getting it up and running and putting in grass and a amazing deck. Other then the great activities that were planned for everyday there was the food. The family is famous of having eaten way to much to eat and this reunion was no different. Not only did we have our three meals a day, when the kids went to bed we had the adult activites (which was getting mostly swimming with out all of the children) and also had food planned at nights. Weeks before everyone sent in a recipe of desserts and dips and at night we sat around and ate cakes, brownies, cheese cakes, ice cream cakes, multiple bags of chips, and 12 different varieties of dips. Not only did we have that but we got to treat ourselves to the normal summer treats that are avaliable only at my parents house like the industrial cotton candy machine, pop corn machine, and ice cream machine (which makes two gallons in every batch and i am pretty sure i ate most of it!!) By the end of the week everyone was twenty pounds heavier but loved every minute of it!I could not forget to have a picture of Brandons pinewood derby! Though this year he was unable to make it he sent his car with my to race his is the cork screw silver one also known as "The dremel made me do it" He worked long and hard on this car and though it got third to last in the race we are still proud of what he did!! Good Job, Hunny!!
