Family Hike!

Brandon in his class is teaching church history and living in hurricane we have a few church history sites with in hiking distance of our house so for family home evening off we went to hike the Hurricane Canal that the saint dug. It was a beautiful day and it was about a 15 minute hike so Brandon carried Coleton and i carried Hayden in my new baby hiker (that i found at DI;) and off we hiked) at the end of the hike there was a cave but Coleton was way to scared to go in but all in all we had a great time!

Easter 2011

Our Family just loves the excitment of Easter! Coleton was so eager to meet the easter bunny but we could not find him anywhere it seems! We tried to find him at the city easter egg hunt but he wasnt there and then when we were looking for him on Saturday morning in the front yard...he snuck in to the back and left a trail of easter eggs with candy in them for the boys and man where they thrilled to pick up!!


Then on sunday morning we once again were visited by the easter bunny when he left goodies for all of us!! Coleton got new socks, more underwear, crayons for the bathtub, and bigger shoes!! Hayden got new socks, curious george movie, and a big blue ball!I got a cute green body pillow and cookie scoops (which i have wanted since we were married but they are discountinued!!) and Brandon got a tool box!We really had a great time as a family this easter weekend!! The boys are just such a fun age and we are so blessed to have them in our lives and are grateful this easter season for the atonement an the blessing that we receive because of it! We hope that everyone had a wonderful easter weekend!

Coletons 3rd Birthday!

Our little guy has turned three years old!! He finally understood that his birthday would be a day where he got presents and boy did he tell us what he wanted. Everytime we were at the store he found the different items that he wanted for his birthday and insisted that his is what he wanted! On his list were Spencer and toby (thomas characters), a buzz action figure, misty island rescue items, mack truck from cars, a pillow pet and anything that looked at all interesting to him. Weeks of him giving us ideas made him think that "today" (meaning everyday) would be his birthday. Finally the day came, we were in cedar for a baby blessing and decided we might as well have a little family party to celebrate. With Coleton and Joleens birthday being so close together we had a combined birthday party. All of the family got together for dinner and had a great time! After dinner, we blew out candles and opened some presents. I made the birthday cake this year and who knew it would cause so many problems! While looking up cake ideas, my computer got infected with many viruses and now i no longer have that computer. What was sad is all of our picture files were on there so will see how that all works out but the birthday cake idead did not work out as planned so i did a simpler version. Coleton was so excited for the gifts that he was not at all interested in eating cake so we let him head right in to open the gifts. Most of them were thomas the tank engine items and he was thrilled Grandma Wiser gave him thomas bubbles, and grandma Comstock got him more track and Spencer. Brandon and I got him a little bike we found at D. I but when we loaded it in the car the training wheel got smashed :( So that was really sad because it was really cute and he was super excited for it. We also for months had been looking for a Buzz lightyear action figure because he really wanted on and four days before his birthday we found one at DI but in our excitement we didnt hide it very well and Coleton saw it before we left the store so he got it a little early but still was so excited! After our little family party we headed back home. Since we all got together on Sunday and his birthday wasnt really tell tuesday, On tuesday there was a present waiting for him from his Grandma so right before bed we open his last present! He had been hoping for a toby and....
It was toby! He was so excited!! We opened it up for him and he hopped in bed and with his little puppy flashlight that he keeps in his bed he sat and looked at toby for hours it was really cute to see him so excited! All in all it was a great birthday!

Is Anyone Out There?!?

For the past few months now, i have been wondering if anyone is coming to see my blog? I have a few faithful commenters (which i am so grateful for!) but other then that i wonder if i am just writing for my own use. I love to blog what the boys are doing because it is amazing to see how fast things change and i have realized that i go back and look to see when they did something or to compare the boys milestones but i am also try to keep family and friends informed about what is going on since we live so far away from some of them. I am now thinking about possibly changing the types of post i write if no one is reading it for more of my personal use but if there are people that check up i will leave it as so let me know if there is "Anyone Out There"!! Thanks!

The Joy of Having Boys!

As Hayden and Coleton get older, the things i always imagined about having two boys are starting to play out! When you think about having two little boys, you think about camping, little league baseball, playing cars, and Brandons favorite wrestling! Brandon always imagined wrestling with the boys and now that the two boys are old enough and understand it enough, they have a lot of fun! Coleton knows all the moves pushing him over, sitting on Brandons stomach and jumping, and pretty much body slamming him. Hayden being so young, but still wanting to be part of the fun, he normally will just sit on Brandons head and bounce while Coleton takes care of the rest! Though i am very grateful to sit this one out, it is fun to watch them play!

Bye Bye Pacie!!

We finally did it!! After many nights staying up with a upset two year old we have done it! A few friday nights ago, i was at a baby shower and as i was sitting there i realized i had Coletons one and only pacifier. Brandon being the brave man that he is decided it was the night to break the habit so we gradually got him off of his pacifier at nights, then days, then naps! It was quite the experience and we thought he was not taking it well because he was up screaming at nights, not sleeping, and was really grumpy during the day but after a trip to the Doctors office we found out that he had a really bad ear infection and because of that his ear drum burst causing the ruff days and nights! Ya it was as bad as it sounds for him and us! Now that we have him on antibiotics boy is he a happy boy and has now been pacie free for little over three weeks!!!

Lots of kids!!

The opportunity came for me to watch more children during the day so i took the offer and ran with it! I have the Alkama family that has a 2year old girl (julia) and a four year old boy(Luke) and occationally a eight year old girl (allison), then there is Carson who is almost three. Along with my two everyday i have the five of them. (fridays carson doesnt come and i have Niah who is two years old). Brandon has a great job which provides great for our families needs so i am doing this more for extra money for extra things like new glasses, my dental bills, our DI trips, and maybe vacations someday. With five kids here everyday it sure makes for a busy house! Thankfully we have a great backyard that they can play in and a little side yard were our sandbox is! By the end of the day i am exausted but things are working out really well! With having all of the kids here our family has now gotten the stomach flu and the Hayden got RSV while Coleton got an ear infection. So when i only have my two it is remarkably easier!! I am definately not worried to have a third (though i am not pregnant) because i am already able to handle five kids under the age of four years!

Caught "white" Handed

Little kids always seem to get in to the same things! Coleton always tried to break in to the Nesquick mix which makes sense because it is really sweet but Hayden breaks into....
the flour?!?! I dont understand it?? He loves to eat flour! I have to make sure to put the bins lid on really tight so he cant get to it but i sometimes forget so this is what i find....Though it is really frusturating to see him in it i cant help but laugh when i see this floury grin...As a little side not i was going to mention that Hayden has gotten two back molers recently bring his teeth total to 10! With all those teeth he eats flour???

Happy Valentines Day!

This year for Valentines day, we spent as a family! We were going to try to get a babysitter but we figured the extra cost was not worth it so Brandon took me to a chinese resturant here in Hurricane and we brought the boys with us! They ate free so it worked out well and the food was great! This year, Hurricane has been extra rainy. Since we were not really expecting it we forgot to bring some of the out side toys in to the garage and Brandons baseball mit (that he got like a hundred years ago) was in a bucket that was filled with water and it sitting out there for a few weeks ruined it so for Valentines day i got him a new one so we could continue to play catch!

Thought the day was pretty simple we enjoyed the time together and another wonderful Valentines day together!

Haydens First Birthday!

Haydens Birthday was wonderful! We cant believe he is already one! We had Brandons parents and grandparentscome down for a little party a few days after he turned one. We had a little dinner with Roast, rolls, and salad and then got out the cake! I made his birthday cake this year and i really liked how it turned out! With Coleton potty training, Hayden is always jealous when Coleton gets M$Msso i made it for him and as soon as Hadyen saw it he went nuts, whinning for it! It made it all worth it! After singing and Coleton blowing out the candles. We let Hayden go at his piece of cake and he actually didnt get that messy!? who would have guessed! We opened a few gifts and called it a night!It was a great little party for him and we are glad to have him in our little family!
