Caught "white" Handed

Little kids always seem to get in to the same things! Coleton always tried to break in to the Nesquick mix which makes sense because it is really sweet but Hayden breaks into....
the flour?!?! I dont understand it?? He loves to eat flour! I have to make sure to put the bins lid on really tight so he cant get to it but i sometimes forget so this is what i find....Though it is really frusturating to see him in it i cant help but laugh when i see this floury grin...As a little side not i was going to mention that Hayden has gotten two back molers recently bring his teeth total to 10! With all those teeth he eats flour???

Happy Valentines Day!

This year for Valentines day, we spent as a family! We were going to try to get a babysitter but we figured the extra cost was not worth it so Brandon took me to a chinese resturant here in Hurricane and we brought the boys with us! They ate free so it worked out well and the food was great! This year, Hurricane has been extra rainy. Since we were not really expecting it we forgot to bring some of the out side toys in to the garage and Brandons baseball mit (that he got like a hundred years ago) was in a bucket that was filled with water and it sitting out there for a few weeks ruined it so for Valentines day i got him a new one so we could continue to play catch!
Thought the day was pretty simple we enjoyed the time together and another wonderful Valentines day together!

Haydens First Birthday!

Haydens Birthday was wonderful! We cant believe he is already one! We had Brandons parents and grandparentscome down for a little party a few days after he turned one. We had a little dinner with Roast, rolls, and salad and then got out the cake! I made his birthday cake this year and i really liked how it turned out! With Coleton potty training, Hayden is always jealous when Coleton gets M$Msso i made it for him and as soon as Hadyen saw it he went nuts, whinning for it! It made it all worth it! After singing and Coleton blowing out the candles. We let Hayden go at his piece of cake and he actually didnt get that messy!? who would have guessed! We opened a few gifts and called it a night! It was a great little party for him and we are glad to have him in our little family!

Haydens Stats

We headed to the doctor for Haydens checkup and they say he is doing great! Here are his stats...

Weight 23 Lbs 52%
Height 30.5 in 71%
HC 19.7 in 100% (its way above the curve!)

They said his head would even out but i think that with him moving (and screaming) they measured him a little bigger then he really is! We are blessed to have a healthy one year old!

Haydens Birthday!

Our little Hayden turns one today, and though we wont be celebrating it til thursday i thought i would still talk about all of the things that i love about our litle guy! Hayden is so different from Coleton and it is amazing to me!
1. Hayden has from the first few weeks he was born, slept through the night. I never worry about waking up with him. From a person that really needs her sleep I am so grateful for that!2. He doesnt have a pacifier anymore and doesnt seem to have anything that he clings to having except maybe me! Without a pacifier to pop in his mouth when he is fussy, i find that he is alot louder then Coleton was.

3. Hayden seems to talk and talk though i dont understand any of it! He babbles all day long and i love it! He says "daddy" almost all day long wondering were he is not realizing he is at work and then the moment he comes home he runs up to him to give him a hug just like Coleton does!
4. His big blue eyes! Everyone talks about his blue eyes but they sure do make him, him!

5. His Crazy hair! I love that his hair grows fast and that he has a lot of it. It makes it so i can gel it up all cute but when he wakes up from a nap it is crazy. I have cut it quite a few times now but i try not to cute it to short becasue his hair line is a bit funny.
6. Hayden thinks hes really funny ;) He thinks its funny to quirm away while i change his diaper, he thinks hes funny by trying to run up to the front of the room while Brandon is teaching Sunday school, he thinks hes funny when he knocks over Brandon while they are wresling. I love that he thinks he is funny becasue he has an adorable laugh when he does it!

7. I love is little pointer finger! It makes my day so much easier! He points to the things he wants so i dont have to play a guessing game each day and he makes cute little faces with that finger. The picture is a bit blurry but i love when he does this.
8. That he has teeth! Coleton got teeth really late so he could not eat anything it seemed! Hayden has seven teeth (the top four and botttom three).

9. I love that he loves Coleton so much!He wants to do everything that Coleton does! It is really sad when Coleton pushes him over or tells him to leave, Hayden gets the saddest face because his feelings were hurt, its so sad but most of the time they are best friends and i absolutely love that!!

Then there are those things that i hope that Hayden will grow out of like...

10. He loves the stairs, but he still is not very good with them luckly there are only five steps becasue he has a tendensy to roll down the steps end over end and land directly on his head! Which i guess isnt really shocking to us because no matter how he falls his head hits first?? Luckly we have not had any major head injuries but i wouldnt be shocked it one happened!
11. Both of my boys love baby dolls and items that are pink! We hope that they both grow out of it but right now any chance they get they will grab the baby dolls!12. Hayden has fallen in love with a little hidding place. He loves to sit in the cabinet and giggle! He thinks its his own little hide out and loves it! 13. his love to play in the toliet water and Coletons potty chair. I dont understand it but man is it a fight to get him out!14. He loves the remote and the phone. He loves to pretend to talk on it but also loves to push redial so call alot of people back (sorry!)

On a more serious note...I love that he is healthy! As i read other peoples blogs and hear other stories i am so grateful that he is a healthy one year old. I thank my Heavenly Father for keeping him safe everyday! The thing that i love most is that he is ours! We are all sealed together and we have him forever what a blessing that is!!

Mini Vacation!

This past weekend, we were able to head up to Salt Lake City alone!! Brandons parents had given us some jazz tickets for Christmas so we were able to go to the Jazz vs Oklahoma Thunder! We left on Friday evening after Brandon got off work. We got the boys ready and dropped them off at Grandmas house and off we went (these outfits the boys got for Christmas from Grandma so we thought if would be the perfect time to have them wear them!)
After dropping the boys off, we decided to drive to Provo for the night! We did not know that there was a dance/cheerleading activity going on and since Brandon wanted to be spontanious we did not schedule anything but we found this amazing room for 40% off and it was awsome! We woke up Saturday morning to no children and a free breakfast buffet that was amazing! We had french toast, fresh fruit, waffles, fresh donuts, bagels, egg McMuffins (made fresh not really McDonals) and milk, yogurt, juice and pretty much everything you could think of! We ate and then went and wandered around Provo, it was great! Then that night we headed to our game. I was super excited to wear some of my new clothes from Christmas and we were off to the game!
We got to the game and of course it was freezing out side the game was warm so we got Brandon a t-shirt (its funny though he has always loved the Jazz and our kids have clothes and blankets of the Jazz Brandon didnt have anything even the right colors!)

The game was fun to go to even though we lost! Brandons been to quite a few games but this was my first so i was excited to see the Jazz dancers and all of the half time show that you dont see on TV! Sunday morning, we woke up early to get back to church since Brandon had to teach and i had YW i was incharge of but the weekend was amazing, it was nice to be able to spend the weekend child free and with the man i love! Thanks Tom and Joleen all of your help!!

Once again... new calling!

Well, last week we had stake conference and they put in a new stake Young Womens presidency! No i was not put in the YW stake presidency but the lady that was over me, the 2nd councilor in YW got put in the stake so i was called to her spot!! I am the new 2nd councilor of the Young Womens presidency!!(i am still the YW leizon and in charge of the R. S. Nursery) It definately came as a shock to me! Since i had only been in YW for about three weeks i figured there was no way they would put me in but boy was i wrong! On sunday morning i had a meeting with the beehive presidency (as the advisor), ten minutes before church they called me in and asked me to fill the calling, then i taught in YW, got all keys and binders (with all the info that goes with it), had BYC, had a presidency meeting, and then had to trade Brandon so he could go to choir practice. Poor Brandon has gotten stuck watching the boys! It was a crazy day and my brain is so fun of info i am not suppose to forget but i am excited! These next two weeks we have our New Beginnings dinner, i am in charge of a combined activity, and have to call another advisor and boy am i nervous but once again, Young Women here i come!!

Horrible Dental Experience!

With insurance that covers dental cleaning, we decided to go get our teeth cleaned!! I needed a cap placed on a tooth which i have known about ever since i had braces but i got another shock while i was there. I had a root canal done about five years ago, they placed a cap on it and i was suppose to pretty much be set but while i was there he said that he thought there was a cavity under it but he was not sure so about a week later i went back to get a filling done on it. Well while working on it he said he was going to need to take the cap off of it becasue it seemed worse then he was expecting. A little nervous because when it comes to my teeth problems never seem to be little. He had me come back a few days later. During all of this i was unable to eat anything hard in fear it would damage both teeth that were not protected with solid caps so i was pretty much on super soft food or liquids (which came to last about three weeks :( So i came back expecting to have a filling and this is how it went down. As he was working on me i keep hearing the things you dont want to hear like "it goes all the way through here" and "that is not good" "this part is worse" pretty much nothing good! Well, it got to a point where he stopped and looked at me and said "Carleen, its worse then we expected. i need you too look at something" They handed me a mirror and i looked and was stunned! The tooth (which is the moler second to last in my mouth) was taken down to below my gum line! The roots where the only thing left. He said that he could build the tooth back up but suggested that i get it pulled out and get a bridge or implant. Not expecting this, i decided to get it taken out to avoid problems in the future. He said that there wasnt much i could do to have stopped it from getting to this point since it had been happening under the cap. That is not really what i wanted to hear! The other problem i have is my teeth dont come out! Most of my baby teeth had to be pulled out because they didnt fall out on their own so this tooth wouldnt come out. I had to sign a waiver saying that if they broke other teeth or my jaw they were not responsible which made me very nervous! They pryed and pulled, i heard things crack, blood was spraying everywhere and i was laying there in tears holding my jar so it would not break! It was horrifying. I know it sure makes the dentist look bad but he really was doing a good job it is just my teeth that were not cooporating! Brandon came to pick me up and they were wiping blood off my forhead and shirt. My blood pressure was really low from all of the bleeding and i emotionally was a mess! Thankfully Brandons mom was sweet enough to come help me with the boys the day after because i was on high medication and a tad emotional! In the next few months, i will have to get an implant which is not cheep (estimated to be about $$2,400) so i will have to find a way to take care of that but i hopefully will not have to have that happen ever again!! The pictures below are of the hole so dont look if you dont want to, i still have hard looking at it (these pictures are about three weeks of it healing)
Kind of horrifying huh! :(

Under the Stairs Fort

Brandon, during Christmas, decided to take some vacation time since this would be the only time in a year he would get a break from both his masters and work so he took off the week between christmas and new years! It was a good break for him but he needed things to work on so he decided to finish up the space under the stairs for an extra playroom for the boys! This is what it looked like when we moved in....This is what it looked like when we were working on the electrical. (he was able to do most of it by himself with a few calls to my dad for some help but he did it!)Here it is ith the built wall on the back, light installed, and wall board up!There is a little removable wall so that we can access the crawl space for storage. Brandon painted the walls to match coletons room and put up molding and a square of carpet so its not cement!
The boys love the room! They play and watch movies in it all the time! You can see there are some things that we need to finish on the door frame but for now it is exactly what we were wanting!
