Once again... new calling!

Well, last week we had stake conference and they put in a new stake Young Womens presidency! No i was not put in the YW stake presidency but the lady that was over me, the 2nd councilor in YW got put in the stake so i was called to her spot!! I am the new 2nd councilor of the Young Womens presidency!!(i am still the YW leizon and in charge of the R. S. Nursery) It definately came as a shock to me! Since i had only been in YW for about three weeks i figured there was no way they would put me in but boy was i wrong! On sunday morning i had a meeting with the beehive presidency (as the advisor), ten minutes before church they called me in and asked me to fill the calling, then i taught in YW, got all keys and binders (with all the info that goes with it), had BYC, had a presidency meeting, and then had to trade Brandon so he could go to choir practice. Poor Brandon has gotten stuck watching the boys! It was a crazy day and my brain is so fun of info i am not suppose to forget but i am excited! These next two weeks we have our New Beginnings dinner, i am in charge of a combined activity, and have to call another advisor and boy am i nervous but once again, Young Women here i come!!

Horrible Dental Experience!

With insurance that covers dental cleaning, we decided to go get our teeth cleaned!! I needed a cap placed on a tooth which i have known about ever since i had braces but i got another shock while i was there. I had a root canal done about five years ago, they placed a cap on it and i was suppose to pretty much be set but while i was there he said that he thought there was a cavity under it but he was not sure so about a week later i went back to get a filling done on it. Well while working on it he said he was going to need to take the cap off of it becasue it seemed worse then he was expecting. A little nervous because when it comes to my teeth problems never seem to be little. He had me come back a few days later. During all of this i was unable to eat anything hard in fear it would damage both teeth that were not protected with solid caps so i was pretty much on super soft food or liquids (which came to last about three weeks :( So i came back expecting to have a filling and this is how it went down. As he was working on me i keep hearing the things you dont want to hear like "it goes all the way through here" and "that is not good" "this part is worse" pretty much nothing good! Well, it got to a point where he stopped and looked at me and said "Carleen, its worse then we expected. i need you too look at something" They handed me a mirror and i looked and was stunned! The tooth (which is the moler second to last in my mouth) was taken down to below my gum line! The roots where the only thing left. He said that he could build the tooth back up but suggested that i get it pulled out and get a bridge or implant. Not expecting this, i decided to get it taken out to avoid problems in the future. He said that there wasnt much i could do to have stopped it from getting to this point since it had been happening under the cap. That is not really what i wanted to hear! The other problem i have is my teeth dont come out! Most of my baby teeth had to be pulled out because they didnt fall out on their own so this tooth wouldnt come out. I had to sign a waiver saying that if they broke other teeth or my jaw they were not responsible which made me very nervous! They pryed and pulled, i heard things crack, blood was spraying everywhere and i was laying there in tears holding my jar so it would not break! It was horrifying. I know it sure makes the dentist look bad but he really was doing a good job it is just my teeth that were not cooporating! Brandon came to pick me up and they were wiping blood off my forhead and shirt. My blood pressure was really low from all of the bleeding and i emotionally was a mess! Thankfully Brandons mom was sweet enough to come help me with the boys the day after because i was on high medication and a tad emotional! In the next few months, i will have to get an implant which is not cheep (estimated to be about $$2,400) so i will have to find a way to take care of that but i hopefully will not have to have that happen ever again!! The pictures below are of the hole so dont look if you dont want to, i still have hard looking at it (these pictures are about three weeks of it healing)
Kind of horrifying huh! :(

Under the Stairs Fort

Brandon, during Christmas, decided to take some vacation time since this would be the only time in a year he would get a break from both his masters and work so he took off the week between christmas and new years! It was a good break for him but he needed things to work on so he decided to finish up the space under the stairs for an extra playroom for the boys! This is what it looked like when we moved in....This is what it looked like when we were working on the electrical. (he was able to do most of it by himself with a few calls to my dad for some help but he did it!)Here it is ith the built wall on the back, light installed, and wall board up!There is a little removable wall so that we can access the crawl space for storage. Brandon painted the walls to match coletons room and put up molding and a square of carpet so its not cement!
The boys love the room! They play and watch movies in it all the time! You can see there are some things that we need to finish on the door frame but for now it is exactly what we were wanting!

Merry Christmas 2010!

Christmas this year was so much fun! It seems the more kids we have and the older they get the more fun that it is! This year i planned on getting up really early but brandon had another plan for us he made me wait til about five. Since i was already up waiting, i decided to get ready for the day and do a little blogging.
At five we got the boys up and let them come out though they were both pretty tired Coleton and Hayden were both thrilled when they saw what Santa had brought them!!

Hayden got a vacuum that talks when you roll it, Coleton got a miniture set of Toy Story Figurines, Brandon got a book of this poems that he wrote over the Christmas season and some trumpets for his class (for the walls of Jerico), and I got a wedding Band!!!!! (When we got married we didnt really have the money to get a wedding band so i only had an engagment ring (which was the wrong size) so i have not been wearing a wedding ring for the past 3.5 years so we got a little 2mm silver band to go with it and got my engagement ring sized and polished yay!!)After they had a chance to play with there toys from Santa we opened some of the other things they got from us and Grandparents!Hayden got some little cars and Mr. Potato head!Coleton got a little helicopter and Toy Story nightlights,And Brandon was waiting patiently for his big present.....A remote control RC!

It had a lot of cool settings like roming mode where it would act real and drive around, it would follow you when you called for it, and would sense the walls while you were driving it so it would not hit them which was exciting for me!!! All in all the morning was great!!

After getting done opening presents we decided to go to see Brandons family since Candice wasnt able to come for Christmas. Coleton loaded up his toys in the backpack and off we went! The boys got some clothes, farross wheel, and truck!I got clothes, and Brandon got some jazz tickets!!! (game is Feb 6)And one of the most special was Joleen made/gave us a copy of Bradys(Brandons little brother that passed away) scrapbook with everything that happened with him. It was so special and precious and we are so grateful for he taking the time to make it! That is one of those gift that will always be close to our hearts!Christmas was just so fun and we are so grateful for all those who thought of us and feel so blessed this Christmas season! We are so grateful for this time of year and for the birth of our Savior. We hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve!

Since, of course, Brandon didnt have to work, we figured we would take the opportunity to have some fun so we went to Fiesta Fun center to play some games! Coleton wanted to play one of the games that are kind of risky but he did it all by himself and got a ton of tickets!!We let Coleton take a drive in the mini cars, played some games, and got a few little toys with our tickets! It was a fun little get away! After that we decided we really needed to finish taking our neighbor gifts so we went out to deliver them! It was a tad chilly but not bad after we got home we ate our big three foot sandwich and then opened some of the gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Cheney! We got a book of pictures from all the families and from the Cheney Reunion, and the boys got some nice soft pajamas and new fleece blankets which they were both so excited for! Brandon got a stud finder and i got hotpot holders my mom made for me. We changed them in to there new PJs and read them The Night Before Christmas and off to bed they went. Hayden went to bed quickly but Coleton not so much! He was up til about 10:30pm. Brandon rocked him, layed next to him, got him more milk, but after about an hour of this Brandon asked him "Coleton why arent you falling asleep??" and in a little whisper he answered "Santa comin!" He had been crying all day that he really wanted a buzz doll and so it was driving him crazy to wait for another day. After another hour went by Brandon asked him "Coleton you need to go to bed so that Santa can come!" Coleton then answered in a sad voice "but i want to see him!?" It was cute that he was so excited but we were sure glad when he fell asleep! We had a great day spending it together as a family and we look forward to the many Christmas eves we will have in the future!

The Twelve days of Christmas

We were so blessed to be given the twelve days of Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Cheney this year! Coleton had so much fun opening one each night or during Brandons lunch break! We got ornaments that had a little thought with each and a little toy for both boys to enjoy which they did. There were little balls for them to play with, stickers of the manger, stuffed animals, and of course Coletons favorites were the candy! We knew it must have taken alot of preporation to get it ready but we loved it and are grateful for thinking of us!!
