Just waiting around!!

With there being a delay in us hearing if we have a full-time position or not, we are trying to just enjoy every moment right now. Knowing that no matter if we have a job in a few months, our life will change drastically. As we wait, we have been able to enjoy the things that we do have...
#1 We have a little boy that is becoming silly, just like his dad! He seems to know exactly when to giggle when Brandon makes a joke or plays a trick on him and is now trying his hardest to be like daddy and do it back to him.#2 He is learning to explore! The simplest items are just so exciting to him. He loves grabbing Brandons screw drivers and measuring tapes and carrys them everywhere and laundry baskets are just so funny:0) #3 He is learning to lay. From the time he was born he has been on the go. He is not cuddly and did not lay down for anything but after playing hard he has found the joy of just laying back and watching a baby story with mom!

#4 His little scoot! I cant wait for him to start walking but i am going to miss his scoot so much. He has gotten so fast and though it wears out the bottom in his clothes and always has the same leg dirty, It has been so fun to see him change.#5 Last of all, Coletons bright blue eye! Where every we go whether to the store, church, or to see family we hear constantly how cute is big blue eyes are. I know that i do take it for granted alot but his big blue eyes to make me melt and i am glad to realize everyday that no matter how fast he grows, what hes up to, or where every we will be those big blue eyes will be there. Though we wish we knew where we will be i am glad to see what we have now.

Crazy kid!

Here is our little man, wow is he growing and getting into trouble! This just shows me how much they can learn from watching you...brandon loves the root beer from the glass bottles. The other day i let him get a case of them fo a treat. so here is Brandons empty root beer bottle that Coleton thought he would take a swig of...I know, another think that makes me sound horrible...i am trying to teach him to like watching TV.But this one is my favorite... He love being outside so much that when i crack the sliding glass door open for a breeze he will throw things out so that i will have to open the door to bring them back in sometimes its a shoe, pacifier, toys, but the one in the picture is the telephone, man was i confused when it started ringing. He is getting so smart and can hardly keep up!

No news yet!

Thought we would just let everyone know that though we were suppose to find out on the 17th of April if we are hired to teach full-time next year or not. Brother Thompson, his advisor, came and told him that for some reason we will not know for another 2-4 weeks if we are hired(or not). We are guessing with the hiring freeze there are not as many opening so it will take them a bit longer to decide who they are going to hire so we just have to hold out for a few weeks. We will keep you informed if we find anything out!!

My baby is one! I cant believe it! Since his birthday was actually on Easter this year we decided to celebrate it on Saturday night!Caralee and i spent all morning decorating his cake which i think turned out pretty good and it was alot of fun to make. Then that night we were lucky enough to have all of Brandons family over for a little party for him.He had a few adorable gifts that he was not sure what he was supose to do with but we helped him out!But when he started to realize what was in the backs man was he excited..After the toys, he got to the best part.. the cake!!We just gave him one of the blocks and he went to town.. He thought it was great to be eating anything with sugar since he doesnt get hardly any but that night i think he had a little tummy ache but it was a great night. I cant believe he is one year old it seems like we have had him for ever but i still cant believe is getting so big. This one is not from his birthday but i thought it was adorable it was the first time he saw bubbles and man was he confused, i love it!

Coleton got a bubble blower a blue ball and edible grass (it was not that great!), Brandon got boxing gloves(for a lesson) and i got a sudoku book and my favorite HPTs. All together it was great!! I love holidays and this one was so much fun!

Caralees Visiting

With Brandon on spring break we decided to have my sister, caralee, come and take our mind off waiting to see if we are hired! She flew in to Cedar City on Wednesday afternoon. Coleton and I went and picked her up while Brandon was in class. After picking Brandon up from class we made a run to the store to pick up some snacks for the week. We then went home had dinner and then off to our first activity...We decided to head over to Brandon parents for a bonfire with smores. We told stories and just talked for a while it was a ton of fun.The next morning we woke up and made some homemade deluxe waffles and then i braided her hair for the up coming day!Brandons dad, Brandon, and Caralee headed to Saint George for her first attempt to go four wheeling. She said it was a blast and i am glad everyone came back alive! That night after a few showers we played games like yahztee and clue! The next morning we headed over to the church mini golf course, it was a little windy but it was still a ton of fun! When we got home from mini golf, though it was Friday morning we were surprised to see that the easter bunny had come!! (Next blog)The Easter bunny brought us some mini watermellons so we went to the shop in the back of our house and did a little watermellon bowling! We teamed up Brandon and I were on one team and Caralee and Coleton. Brandon and i thought we were a shoe in to win but man were we wrong caralee was amazing and totally showed us up!! Go Caralee!!After watermelon bowling it was time for dinner. Since it was friday night we went out not to any resturant we went to every resturant, well almost! We did a prgressive dinner at five resturants McDonalds, Artic circle, Sonic, Burger King, and Wendys. It was so fun and so unhealthy but a night to remember!Since Coletons birthday this year was on easter, we decided to celebrate his birthday a day early. So on Saturday morning Caralee and I made Coletons Birthday cake! It took three cake mixes and about three hours but we had a ton of fun making it together! After making our cakes, we did a little safari hunting. We had a nerf gun, that the Easter Bunny brought, and a bow and arrow. We went on a little hunt a shot at posters of safari animals. Then we went at used blow darts and shot at plastic animals, of course i was the best shot caralee and brandon did pretty good too!
It was so much fun to have Caralee come up to visit for a few days we cant wait to have her up again soon!!

Cheney Family!

Like always, our visit at my parents went great! We were planning on going to Salt Lake for the interview on the 18th so when they changed their plans we decided to still head upto kaysville that weekend! We went up on March 20th and Coleton and i stayed til the 29th, because Brandon had to come home and teach his classes. While we were there my mom and I went to all my favorite stores DI, Savers, Sams club, better walmart, and many more. I love to find good deals and my mom always finding the best ones so she took me around and boy did we find some good stuff! We found some great toys for coleton that look brand new a singing puppy that you pull behind you, and john deer bike/truck, some cute cloths, and lots more good stuff! It was really fun to just relax and spend sometime together. We also got to try some new recipes. Since she loves to read cook books she finds some really meals and she finds creative dinner and i learn a ton while i am there!
Brandon was able to come up on the weekends and we were able to go with my mom and dad and do some window shopping which we love to do, since we dont have many stores to go to here is Cedar. Coleton loved being up at my parents, they always seem to have good snacks that he never gets when he is at home so he loved life! He did great on the drive there and back and slept great while we were there which was amazing some nights! All together our trip was great, its fun to have a little get aways and spend time with family. We are so excited for this years Cheney reunion. There is alot of fun stuff planned and Coleton is going to have a blast with his cousins and of course grandma and grandpa!

Our Interview with Elder Mask!!

The day we have been waiting for finally came! Brandon and I, since we started with CES, have been waiting for the moment that we might get a chance to have an interview with a general authority! We got a phone call from the CES secretary and we were informed that we would be meeting with Elder Clate Mask of the seventy. The plan was to go up to salt lake city and interview with him on Wednesday the 18th we were going to meet with him in the church office building but with the hiring freeze they decided to do a video conference from the university here in Cedar City which is SUU.
Our interview was in a conference room at SUU at nine thirty. I had heard that the interview would last for about an hour and that they would be mostly interviewing the wife, which made me a little nervous but man were we shocked when we got in. At nine fifteen they turned on the cameras so we started the interview early. He introduced himself and checked Brandon and I's name and then said so you have a child and we said "yes, coleton". He then asked where we were from and said that there was some questions that the first presidency wanted him to ask then interviewed Brandon like it was a temple reccommend interview. After he talked with Brandon said that he had worked with CES and it was a great life for him and his family. Not sure what he was going to ask he said that we did a great job, that we got an A and that he would pass it on to those who needed it and said good bye we both did a wave through the camera and left the whole interview lasted about 10 minutes and we were out of there before we were suppose to start! We walked out of the conference room a little shocked how short it was and that it was nothing like what we expected. Our experience was not like other CES employees but we figure he said we got an A so what more could we want! The plan is that the church will let us know if we are hired on April 17th so we will see!?!

Big Boy

With Coleton getting so big and is having a harder time fitting into anything, so we decided to move him up to the next size clothes which is 12 months.
As I sorted through the new clothes I noticed that there were hardly any one peice outfits and pactically no onesie type shirts. At the time, i didnt think much of it but as he has stated to wear these new clothes, they make him look different.
As i look at him in his new clothes, i realize he isnt a little baby anymore. He's a growing toddler,
a little man!
He is learning so fast and i cant stop thinking about those two country songs "Your going to miss this" and "It wont be like this for long" It is really starting to kick in for me that is really is not going to be little for much longer an man am i going to miss it!
Here is a little video clip of his latest trick....
