Welcome Back, Heber!

Its that time of year again when we get a little visit from Santa! He made a surprise visit to drop off Heber the Elf to our house a week ago! We were getting ready for bed when Santa rang our door bell. By the time we reached the door Santa had already gone but the boys were alittle shocked to see Heber sitting in his sleigh! Coleton quickly picked him up and brought him inside. We sat down and ready the letter that Santa had written to us and Coleton was so excited!Coleton then had to explain to Hayden that they were not suppose to touch him. They went to bed that night so excited that Santa had come and that Heber was now at house until Santa would come and leave them gifts! During the next few days Heber moved through the house he was in the pantry, in the laundry, on the fridge, by the navitity, on the kitchen shelf, in the Christmas tree, and Coletons favorite on his bed reading a book ;)
There was a few days that for some strange reason Heber was not moving and Coleton made sure to tell Heber that he was not being a good elf because he was not playing hide-and-seek but since Coleton has talked to Heber about he seems to be doing much better and Coleton is loving that Heber is around. We are excited to see where Heber will be hiding next :0)

An Update on the Boys!

Thought i would just give a little update on what the boys have been up to lately.... With the baby getting bigger, i find myself sitting alot more and watching as the boys play. Coleton and Hayden are definately becoming best friends and like best friends they like the same things which can cause some difficulties! We have been blessed so much to have neighbors who are more then willing to give us there hand-me-down toys like a very worn cozy coup. Both boys love it but they really only play with it when the other one wants it, same thing with toy story toys, the bikes, and trains. They have gotten the art of trading down pretty good though Coleton doesnt understand what makes a good trade so i have to help. The other day Hayden was playing with a pretend phone which at the point Coleton wanted so Coleton decided to trade him for it. Upon deciding that, he grabbed a play banana and pretend it was a phone and tried to trade Hayden for the better one. Of Course Hayden caught on that it really wasnt that cool and said "no!" (which drives Coleton crazy when Hayden says no. They will have fights yelling no at each other, it gets a little rediculous) to it but after a little help from me, Hayden was willing to give it up for another play phone. Though Coleton sometimes doesnt understood how it worked, he has been able to use trading to his benefit like when his sippy cup is out of milk and Haydens is full he will trade his milk for Haydens milk to which both boys seem to be content?? good job Coleon!
Coleton is going to be moving up to sunbeams in about a month and they have been taking him the last 20 minutes in to primary to get him use to the transition and he has come to love primary and singing time! For a while, no one was aloud to sing in the house without him yelling "no more song mommy!!" but now that he realizes that its pretty cool to sing, we find him singing quite often though he never seems to know the words and constantly repeats the same line over and over but we are loving the change!Hayden is becoming a little boy and starting to talk like crazy. Coleton was always a good little talker so when Hayden started earlier it took us off guard! He says banana, milk, daddy, apple, spider, bob, more, ruff ruff, no, Buzz, woody, Thank-you, mine, mine turn, and many others. What is different from Coleton is Hayden has his own words for things... his blanket is Benny?? and bike is but? (so when he says he wants a bike for christmas he says he wants "a but!" which sure makes everyone giggle) and there are alot of times where i find myself translating what he is saying which i find funny. Hayden loves to vaccum (with the real vaccum and it has to actually be on!) and would do it for hours if i let him. To bad he is short enough that when he pushes it around he has to tilt it back so far it doesnt pick anything up ;(
They both love to get out of the house and we try to get out and go to storytime or have a playdate with someone the boys age because they are not home bodies like me!
The boys have definately been daddys boys lately which makes me feel so much better with the baby coming soon. They love when he comes home for lunch and are heart broken when they wake up to find that dad has already left for work. Coleton for quite a while was not in to hugs and definately not in to giving anyone a kiss but recently he cries when Brandon leaves without giving him a couple of each! When Brandon is home they wrestle, jump, dance, play games, and the boys look forward to him coming home everyday. With Brandon running so much recently Coleton thinks its pretty cool to take a little run with him and after Brandons Half-maraton race where he got a medal Coleton wanted to run so he could get one also so after a run one night Brandon made him his own little medal which he wears quite often!
Coleton is pretty facinated by the fact that i have a baby in my tummy and often wants to lay his head on my stomach to listen to her. Its pretty fun to see his face when she kicks him and how he will quickly say "baby, that is not nice to kick!" Hayden still has no clue other then the fact that he knows to say baby when he points to my stomach! Thought i would keep record of what they were up to because i would regret it later if i didnt!

Everyone Loves Elmo!

About two years ago, we were at DI and found a tickle-me-Elmo that still looked and worked great! With Coleton at the time very interested in Elmo we got it. He loved Elmo and often did things like this ....(pictures from December 2009)With Elmos mouth wide open, Coleton couldnt help but fill it with things. We thought that it was pretty cute but never expected it from another child two years later.... Hayden is also very obsessed with Elmo and as i was cleaning up the kitchen the other morning i watched as Elmos month was once again being filled with a variety of things. After a few minutes he vanished and as i went looking for him this is where i found him...

After many things had been loaded into Elmos month, by both children now, Hayden realized it was time to brush Elmos Teeth? ok maybe gums! He placed him in the sink, got his tooth brush with of course tooth paste, and went to work telling elmo every few seconds "ahhh" so elmo would keep his month open. Then of course after Elmo it was Haydens turn! :0) The two boys are so very different in so many ways but there are days like these were they dont seem so different after all!

Snow Canyon Half- Marathon!!

The day that Brandon has been training for finally came!! He started with the desire to run a half-marathon and did so great preparing. Him and his friend Nate Jensen trained for months running down Zions Canyon and taking runs at nights when the weather cooled off to get ready and then this past weekend they ran there first big race. The big day came and though we live in a pretty warm area the day of the race was freezing, literally! He had trained in 100 all the way down to 50 degree weather but boy we were not expecting to to be in the 30s! The morning of the race was raining and really windy and off the boys went to run 13.2 miles! They bundled up at 8am and started their run! Nate and Brandon ran together for the first few miles then Nate got a burst of energy and ran a head while Brandon stayed on pace. The boys and i headed over a few hours later to meet up with him at the finish line. It was so cold and the boys hated being out in the wind though by then it had stopped raining!
There were about 3 thousand runners so it was really hard to find Brandon since he was not in his normal running gear (he had gotten his running jacket the night before so i could bearly remember what he was wearing which doesnt help when you have two cold, crying children when you are trying to take pictures of him running past!) But i noticed him right it time! He made it to the end, honestly it looked like it was a miserable run but he was so proud of himself for finishing under his estimated time. He was really wanting to make it under 2 hours and make it in 1 hour 58 minutes!!!! He got a pretty fancy metal for running the race and they had a lot of cool snacks for them afterwards! We are just so proud of Brandon for sticking with running. There have been quite a few injuries that he has had to deal with blisters, foot strains, knee problem, back problems, and quite a bit more but he has kept running through all of them to keep himself healthy for the boys and me. He has lost quite a bit of weight (though i have been gaining it with the pregnancy) and he is looking and feeling great! Keep up the good work, Honey!!

Happy Halloween!!

Since last year, our little family all dressed up as the incredibles, there was high expectations of what we would be this year. Brandon has alot of his students in our ward or in our neighborhood that were wondering what we would be this year so this year we decided to be....M&M's!! We had two little M&ms and we were the packages!! Almost everyone asked if i made the costumes and though i would love to take credit for them, i did not. Brandons mom made these costumes when Brandon was the little green M&M so she was sweet enough to let us borrow them! Everyone seem to think they were pretty cute so i think we were a hit! This year we went to the community center halloween party which was held on saturday night which the boys loved and then on Monday night we went to our wards trunk-or-treat. Coleton and Hayden had a great time and we got a good little stash of candy. After hitting all of the cars, we passed a few pieces out and then headed home to pass out candy for those trick or treaters coming through the neighborhood. The boys seem to enjoy passing out the candy more then trick-or-treating themselves. Coleton loved running to the door throwing the door open and yelling "HAPPY HALLOWEEN" as he then searched through the bowl of candy deciding which candy would be best for each indivdual child. Some of the kids were waiting a couple of minutes to recieve a snickers but everytime i would tell him to hurry because the kids were waiting he would say in a destressed voice "Im trying to hurry mom!" He just wanted to make sure that everyone got just what they wanted ;)Hayden just tried his hardest to get a piece of candy into someones bag which only happened probably twice all night. As each child left our house, Coleton yelled once again, "Bye, Happy Halloween!" By the end of the night, we were all exausted and ready for bed but the boys had a lot of fun and this year halloween was a success!
Happy Halloween Everyone!

Baby #3 Ultrasound!!

We had our 18 week ultrasound and this is what we found....We are excited to announce that we are expecting a little girl!! I know if you look at the fine print this isnt really from our ultrasound (my pictures are not downloading) but you get the point! I have thought all along that it was a girl but it still is hard for me to process the thought of having dolls, bows, barbies, and pink in the house. Coleton is super excited to have a little girl and talk about her coming all of the time so we cant wait! We have alot of things to get organized but we have plenty of time to get there!

Our Little Boy Family!

For the past 3.5 years we have been an all boy family!! Our house is filled with cars, trains, blues, greens, and eveything boy! I have absolutely loved having two little boys, its alittle crazy but they are so close i would not want it any different! Coleton wants Hayden to follow him wherever he goes and Hayden loves following Coletons every foot step!
They have do everything together whether its them both playing with the Buzz lightyear action figure or both wearing the camping hats, they have to be the same. They both love there daddy and want to do everything just like him whether its running down the street or wearing clothes just like daddy.
All the way around, i just love having a family of boys but with my 20 week ultra sound coming up in a few day i have to realize that this might change. I would love to have another boy to add to the fun but but with this pregnancy being so very very different i have a feeling we might be adding some pink to the mixture???

Carving pumpkins!

This week for family home evening we decided to carve pumpkins as a family. I really enjoy this time of year, costumes, decorations, carving pumpkins, but Brandon says he could go without carving pumkins but Coleton insisted that we do so we went to walmart let hiim pick his own pumpkin out of the "pumpkin patch" and headed home for some fun! Hayden loved cleaning out the pumpkin with Brandon and Coleton and I carved the faces out!We made a "happy pumpkin" that was coletons favorite and a "angry pumpkin" which Coleton did not want looking at him ;) They were so excited to have the pumpkins that the boys wouldnt let us put them outside so they have been sitting in our house, but we are hoping that they will eventually make it outside were they belong but we had alot of fun making them!

Lightning Macqueen watch!!

About a week ago, we were trying to waste sometime so we walked around Family dollar. The boys always like to look at the toys and Coleton found this lightning MacQueen watch that he fell in love with! Since we normally dont buy toys unless its a speical occation we told him that he would have to save up the money to buy it! Well we didnt think much of it but he started asking how to make money to buy the watch so we gave him little jobs to raise some money. Cleaning up toys, making his bed, helping me clean up the table and things like that. We were quite generous and gave him a quarter for each task and after about a week... He was able to buy his watch!

He was so excited and has big plans to save up some money so that Hayden can have a watch like him but that would be spiderman! We are so proud of him and are excited to see what else he is willing to save and work for!

Exciting News at the Comstocks!!

During our mini vacation in Salt Lake City we were able to have a day to ourselves which is always fun!! My sister-in-law and brother were sweet enough to watch the boys while we spent the day at lagoon! We had so much fun and after were able to go our to eat at P.F. changs which was a first for me. The food was great and of course we love the fortune cookies!! Mine was.... "This month will be lucky and memorable for you" Though i am not one who normally believes most fortune cookies this one seems to hit me for some reason what stuck our to me was this fortune had a little bee on it so when i got home i put it away for safe keeping.
Brandon and i, since Hayden was born have decided that we wanted to add another baby as soon as we could but for some reason we were unable to get pregnant as quickly as we expected but about a week after our little trip to P.F. Changs our fortune came true.... We are thrilled to be pregnant again and are excited to see what this little one has to bring!!
Though we were so excited to be pregnant once again the excitement quickly wore off as i became rediculously sick from about week 5 til week 14!! I was unable to clean my house, walk up the stairs, stand, and pretty much anything which really was difficult for us bt we were blessd with great friends and family who checked and called us often which was such a blessing. The Dr. finally was able to prescrible zofran for me which helped so much though i wish i would have gotten it from him weeks earlier. Now at about 16 weeks things are much better and i am now able to be excited about the upcoming events. This last dr. appointment that i went to was just to check my blood pressure and the babies heartbeat but when the the dr went to check the heartbeat he was unable to find it, after a few minutes of trying with no success he decided that we should do a quick ultra sound to see what was going on which was a little nerve raking for me but when we got in he found that the reason that we were unable to find the heartrate was because the baby was so active he was unable to get it but said the baby looked fine, which was a relief to hear. That is pretty much the update on how things are going though of course there will be more to come since the ultra sound to find out the sex of the baby will be in about two weeks but for now we are just excited to have a little one joining the family the first week in March of 2011!!
