Coletons First Day of School! (kind of?)

Our big boy is getting to be so... well i guess...big! Coleton now being 3.5 years old he is very social and love being with other kids his age but we just were not planning on putting him in preschool at this young of an age but when the opportunity came we took it. I have one of my beehives named Kenzie Beardall called and said that she was taking a child development class and was wondering if she could bring Coleton in to her class so she could recieve extra credit. Of course i agreed and on Friday we got him already for his first day of school. He was only going to be there for alittle over an hour but we treated it he was going to his first day of kindergarden! We got his favorite outfit on, got his hair looking nice, packed him a backpack, and of course took first day of school pictures, he was super excited....

We sent him in and he loved it! Kenzie was excited to have him there and he thought that Kenzie was the greatest thing ever and has had a hard time not talking about Kenzie she makes it in to dinner prayers, when he is pretending kenzies name comes up alot, and often looks out the window to see if kenzie is outside so he can go see here (she lives diagonal from our house and is one of our babysitters). We were glad that he got the chance to go and have that experience how for just a few more years til he really can go to school!

Brandons First 12k!!

With Brandon on his running kick right now, we finally signed him up for his first offical race!!! Here is Hurricane the have a large celebration called peach days and each year they hold a 12K race. This is a different kind of race because the winner is not determined by how gets finished first but who guesses there time correctly. There are no watches allowed and the race route is not announced until the runners are at the line up, they had to place their estimated time on there registration page (so they had to guess it almost two weeks before the race) so you never know who was going to win so Brandon had a good chance at guessing how long it would take him to finish. The race started early about 6am saturday morning so i had to get the boys out of bed and load them to the Hurricane Community Center at about 7am.

Brandon and his buddy Nate (in the red) were running the race together, so the boys and I made a post to hold up for them so after waiting for a few minutes both boys came into sight...There time was about 1hr 12minutes which was pretty close to what they were aiming for which was 1hour 9minutes 38seconds. Everyone got a peach days shirt for running it and then the top twenty people got prizes and Brandon places 15th and won a $10 gift card to classic sports (which he bought a pair of running socks with!) After the race, Brandon ran home to shower quickly while i stayed and got a spot of the peach days parade!! We at by they family i use to watch, the alkamas, and the boys had alot of run together collecting candy. When the parade was finished we walked around to look at all of the booths and activities that they were offering. They had a candy cannon, a booth that home depot was putting on where you could build your own little boat, rides, food, and lots of fun things to look at like an electric train set that was set up which coleton loved!

We also enjoyed the famous navajo tacos and snow cones. The day was really run and Brandon felt really good about how he did on his race and we were very proud of him!!

Brandons 27th Birthday!!

It was Brandons 27th Birthday!! With Brandon changing his life style lately to be more fit and healthy it makes holidays very interesting. When i asked him what he wanted his birthday cake to look like almost jokingly he said a running shoe so i tried my hardest to make a running shoe birthday cake!It was a bit harder than i was expecting but it turned out ok! This year, HE ASKED FOR a new set of running shoes (which blow me away how expensive real running shoes are) and a running shirt (which once again it amazes me how expensive real running shirts are!). He was super excited to get them since he says it makes such a big difference in how a run can go!He also got puppets from his parents for seminary which were pretty darn cute! His birthday was fun, busy but fun and we are glad that we had a chance to celebrate with him!! Happy Birthday!

Cheney Family Campout!!

The last few days of out mini vacation, we decided to spend camping in Idaho with the Cheney family! My sisters Cristeen and Caralee along with my brothers Brent and Bradley brought there families and we camped out together!! It was warm but really fun. Since Coleton loves camping he was in heaven since he got the best of both worlds cousins to play with and camping!! We had a camp sight that my dad had build a little house on so that we would have a kitchen and bathrooms with flushing toilets and showers so it was camping in luxury (even though Coleton prefered to "pee on the trees")!

We had a little firepit that we made, my parents brought there snowcone machine and we had a deluxe out door kitchen with stoves, burners, and griddles to us which made cooking wonderful!

Coleton and Hayden both had a blast playing in the dirt and chasing cousins around the open field.

We came Friday afternoon, played saturday and the near by park, went to church on sunday (which was quite the adventure when you are camping) and headed back to home on Sunday evening. The boys and us were exausted but we had a lot of fun with family.

Hoggle Zoo!!

Day 2 of our mini vacation, we decided to take the boys to the zoo since neither of them had been. We headed to Hogle Zoo with my sister-in-law Marie and her three little girls! We were able to see lots of monkeys,

Which Coleton was really excited about since he had never seen a real monkey..

Hayden was super excited to see everything, he was amazed everytime he saw anything move!

It was pretty warm the day we went so after about thirty minutes Coleton was not in the best of moods.. i had just seen him put his arms up to the sign but when i tried to do it with him he kind of lost it :)

When we went they had a special dinosaur exibit going on that had dinosaurs placed throughout the zoo that moved and growled, some were life size and some were made smaller but i thought they were pretty neat, Coleton hated it!

We saw the elephants (there was a cute little baby elephant) which scared Coleton We saw giraffes which were my favorite...we also saw lions, gorillas, and lots of repitles and bugs.I had been telling Coleton for days that we would be going to the zoo and i would ask him which animals we would see at the zoo and he would answer "zebras, penguins, polar bears, camels...." and we were disappointed to find that when we got there they didnt have any of those animals so he wasnt the happiest of campers but what do you expect, We were grateful that we had family there to help us...

Childrens Discovery Museum!!

We had a free weekend, which is weird since we seem to not have many of them this summer, so we decided to head to Salt Lake for a mini Comstock family reunion (with just our little family). We stayed at my parents house and did some fun activities with the boys. The first day there we decided to head to the Childrens Discovery Center. We had never been but we heard the boys would love it and they did! It was all hands on play for them and here is some of the things they did....They had a large water station that had waterfalls and water wheels that both boys loved, what was better is they even had aprons they could wear so they wouldnt get wet which was wonderful! They had an area that resembled a farmthat you could plant and pick veggies, fruits, play on tractors, and they even had a horse you could sit on.
The next area was Coletons favorite, it was a mini store that he could do his own shopping and he loved every moment of it. We went around picking out the items he needed

Took them to the register and rang him self up,

Even Hayden thought it was pretty amazing to so they worked together to get everything rung up!

They also had a construction sight, ball center, and a small childrens area that they were able to play in. After we went throught the first level of activities they had another level that was for older children that of course Brandon had to go check out;)First he decided to check out being a news caster...

Then he tried being a meterologist..
Then he tried working with the pipes to get a ping pong ball to the end...

Our last stop was outside were they had a real life flight helicopter for you to sit/play in so we went out and saw it. It was really loud and Coleton was terrified of it but Hayden thought it was pretty neat so he was willing to climb in with Brandon. After our trip the boys were exausted so we headed back to my parents house to get a long vacation nap. The day was really fun and the boys had a blast!

Girls Camp! (as a leader)

Now being in young womens, i was able to head to girls camp this year! They were in desperate need of leaders who could stay all week so i was one of the few that could do it! Joleen took the boys during the days and Brandon had took care of them once he got home from work. Sadly the week of girls camp was his area inservice so there was no way he could get it off but we were so grateful for his moms help! Camp went from wednesday morning to saturday morning and Branodn was able to come up as a priesthood leader on thursday night which was fun. The girls that he taught in seminary were thrilled to have him there and had him be part of there skit which was a suprise to him (they had him in a dance competition and he rocked it!!) I was in charge of all extra activities for our ward and though i planned some really fun ones for them they just wanted to do friendship bracelets and sleep so many of my activities never got used which was a little sad. I had almost 18 of my beehives at camp (only one was unable to come) and i had a lot of fun getting to know them! here they are attempting to get a picture of them jumping in the air but we just never made it!Here is our group picture! The theme this year was "the kingdom of God" "camp-a-lot" empasising being daughters of a king! Here is one of my favorite laurels Teisha Nelson, she reminds me of me at her age so its fun to hang around her!And here is the camp director, Teresa Beardall. She was so much fun and i wish we had more chances to work with each other!!

All in all camp was great, we had great weather, ton of fun, and i learned alot about my girls and the leaders i worked with and i can wait til next year!!
