Four Month Doctors Visit!

Today we went to the doctors for Haydens Four month checkup. He did really good today! He fussed a little when Dr. Thompson checked his ears but other than that he was pretty happy! Here are his starts!
Weight- 16.22lbs (66%)
Height- 26.5 in (89%)
HC 16.5 in (34%)
He got three shots! He went from fine to practically purple but he recovered quick. He didnt seem to be bothered at all by them the rest of the day so that was great! We are so blessed to have a happy and healthy boy!

Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Fathers Day everyone! This year we celebrated on saturday and spend sunday in Cedar! We got Brandon a few little gift that he has been wanting...some candy for his office, some quarters for the candy machine at the high school, a water cooler (because every man need a water cooler) and a baster for grilling. Coleton was so excited to give them to Brandon. Its been so fun to see how Brandon is with the boys! He absolutely loves them and spending time with them. He is a great husband and dad and our boys are lucky to have him! Happy Fathers Day!

Time to Potty Train??

Coleton has been showing signs now for a few weeks that he might be ready for potty training! I know that normally potty training a boy works best at about 2.5 years but i was afraid if i didnt think about it i might lose my window of when he was interested! The first sign was he absolutely hates wearing wet clothes. He will immediately go stiff and throw a fit until i change him, even if it is a swimming suit. Second sign was he was telling me when he was messing his diaper, always fun to hear that! Third, he wanted to be in the bathroom anytime anyone was in the bathroom which is kind of uncomfortable for visitors! Last of all, he doesnt like to wear diapers anymore and starting to piece together how things works! The biggest sign for me was when i was about to put Hayden down for a nap the other day i saw Coleton take off his diaper. Knowing i would only be a minute putting Hayden to sleep i told him to stay on the tile so he would not pee on my carpet that was laid less then a year ago. Even though i had told him to stay on the tile i heard him in my room (which is carpeted)with in minutes of me being gone. I quickly layed Hayden down and walked out to see him like this (sorry if it is alittle to revealing for some, i figured all parts where covered!)... At least he knows how to keep my carpets from getting wet but i am definately getting rid of that tupperware! After reading up on how to potty train a little boy (which i have no idea) i decided to get the supplies needed to get started. We bought a potty chair online which he thinks he got so that he could sit and watch TV like Hayden does. He absolutely loves it!
He sits there with Hayden and thinks he is such a cool kid which hopefully will make this an easier training experience!
So the plan now is to see if i can figure out how to do it. I know it will be a learning curve for both of us but i am not in much of a hurry so we can take our time! Wish us luck!

Haydens Four Months!

Hayden is 4 months old! Can you believe it! He has BIG blue eyes, that is normally the first thing everyone notices! He is starting to show his cute little personality which is he is really smilie and happy!
Hayden, like Coleton, loves to stand! He loves to get in his wall hanging bouncer and would much rather stand than sit/or lay anyday! The first time i had put him on his stomach for some tummy time he instantly rolled over shocked i flipped him back and he did it a few more times so he caught on pretty quick! From the day he was born we have tried to get him to take a pacifier instead of sucking on his hands but he definately loves his hands! He will almost always have both hads at one time shoved in his mouth which means his hands are always slimy which is really gross for us! We just love this little guy. He is happy, healthy, and just so adorable!

The unbreakable James!

For those who are not familar with Thomas the tank engine toys they seem pretty durable, i just didnt expect this durable. With the yard being worked on constantly, certain toys end up outside that are strictly inside toys. James is an inside toy, he is one of the thomas engines, but this one is special! When rolled he mades a chugging noice, has a light that works, and a button for his horn. Coleton one day, snuck james out and through him in our little kiddie pool. James is not ment to go in water, it will ruin his horn but i was to late to save james he was already soaked by the time i fished him out. After that james kind of vanished? Thinking that he was hiding it a toy box somewhere i didnt think much of it. After the yard was done, we were walking around back and coleton found this.... James had been left outside and the bobcat that was used to move rock had run over him over and over again! He was not doing well but Coleton loves those trains so off i went to get it fixed. Its head fell off, smoke stack broke off, three wheel broke, two wheels bent, light busted off, and the metal frame was pretty scratched up. I figured it was a lost cause but here is how it is looking after some super glue!!

Can you believe it still works!! everything still works great! After all the repairs, it still looks like it got hit by a truck but Coleton still plays with it like nothing is wrong with james. If you ask me that is one durable toy!!

Finishing the Yard Part 3

For the most part the back yard is done! There are always things to do but we are happy of how things are looking.Before...After! The grass is green, the rocks are layed, and the weeds are gone! We had one of Brandons students that has a bobcat truck come and move all of the rock because it was just taking us to long to do it a barrell at a time! We raked it out but it helped alot! The deal was that after we finished the back yard we could get the BBQ supplies out so here is what Brandon was able to get after everything was done! Now everything is done, we love what we have and feel so lucky to be here right now!

Finishing the Yard part 2

Now that Brandon is back in school, the yard needed to be put on a little hold. Since we (more brandon then me) had spent all week weeding the backyard for the ground cover i didnt want to wait and let the weeds take over again so i did what i had to do... while Brandon was doing homework for school i was outside between naps and started laying the ground cover! I had to level alot of the gound and remove alot of the huge rocks that we dug out so it was quite the work out for me. After getting most of it layed, i went in to take a break because Hayden had woken up from his nap, I looked out to find that the hurricane wind had undone most of my work!! i had to go and relay the cover all over again, the ground staples were just not holding it so we had to use alot of rocks to hold it down. By the end of the day, Brandon had done 12 hours of homework and i had spend all day with the kids and finishing the backyard, I can already tell that tomorrow i am going to be so sore but we are now one more week closer to finishing the backyard.

Finishing the Yard Part 1

The time had come to get the backyard finished so we spent the whole week preping the ground(meaning we pulled weed and man were there alot) so we could lay red rock down! We had all of the rock delivered to the house the night before so it was ready to go (two delivery trucks worth). On Saturday morning after the Father/son campout Brandon and his dad went and found us some good looking trees to plant in the front and back of the house! It was a really hot day, hiting in the 90's, so Coleton stayed cool by playing in the water, while the rest of us where hard at work! We had talked to a local company about coming an digging holes for the trees so we would not have to but they never showed so Brandon (and some help from some students) we dug our own holes! Brandons parents were so sweet to come and help, they layed the ground cover in the front while brandon loaded barrell fulls of rock down. After working in the hot sun for hours we decided to call it a day. We had finished most of the front yard (ground cover layed, tree planted, and rock layed) along with planting the three trees in the backyard (which was much harder because we live on solid volcanic rock so we were pulling bolders out) which made for quite the long day. We have so much left to do but we are getting there slowly!

Father and Son campout!

It was a big weekend for Brandon and Coleton! It was their first official father/son campout. Brandon didnt really know what to expect from our two year old! I got everything packed that they would need extra clothes, diapers, first aid kits, snacks, and blankets and off they went.. the camp site was about 20 min away and it was located on flat rock. That night the ward provided dinner so they sat and talked while coleton made rock piles with other kids from his nursery class. He also liked gathering stray sticks and gave all of them to the first councilor in the bishopic. That night after always playing with in a 15 feet radious of brandon, he curled up and went to bed. Since the ground was all rock, they slept in the back of the truck. Brandon had told me before they left that if Coleton kept waking up that they would be coming back early so all night i waited for the phone to ring telling me that they would be coming home but Coleton slept great. The next morning they woke up had breakfast loaded up and came home. Coleton cried as they brought him in to the house because he wanted to go back "campin".It makes us much more confident that if we went camping as a family we would have alot of fun. They had great time together and Brandon said he did great, so till next year!
