Presenting Hayden Jeffrey!

Well it's official, baby Hayden is finally here! After teaching my first hour class this morning I called home to ask Carly how she was doing. She told me she thought we might want to go to the Hospital soon, so I left work, picked her up and we were off! By the time we got to the Hospital in St. George (25 minutes away) she had convinced herself that she wasnt in labor, and since the temple was just across the street, she suggested we take a few laps before going inside.

When we finally went in the nurses took a look at us, and told us that they were completely full, but they were cleaning out a room, and would get us in in a few minutes, and we were asked to have a seat in the waiting room.

After about a 30 minute wait, the nurse invited us back, hooked up a monitor, asked a few questions, and checked Carly. With a bit of a shoked look on her face she said "Oh my, you're dialated to an eight!" Everything started moving really fast, and in less than two hours we had little Hayden Jeffrey in our arms. The Nurse later apologized and explained that "Women who are dialated to eight centimeters don't just walk into labor and deliver and calmly explain that they're in labor."
Unlike his brother, Hayden was born with a full head of hair and dispite being 8 days early weighed in at a healthy 8 lbs 1 ounce, and 20 inches long.
Since Coleton is so young he is not allowed inside the recovery area, but they let him look through the window of the nursery, and he quickly pointed out his new brother turned to me and exclaimed with great enthusiasm, "BABY!" If we can keep that enthusiasm coming, I think it's safe to say that the two of them are going to make quite the tandem for years to come.

Both Hayden, and Carleen are doing great, and seem to be mutually enjoying the opportunity to cuddle up together outside of the womb.
Thanks for all of your prayers!

Baby Update

It seems like our life right now is just waiting for the new baby. Coleton and i spend most of our day cleaning, organizing, setting up baby items and folding baby clothes in hopes of an early arrival. For the past three weeks i have been going to appointments every week and am being checked for any progress at 36 weeks, while they were doing the strep test found that i was dialated to a 3 and the baby was head down and low. When i went in last week at 37 weeks, i was dialated to 3.5 60% effaced and still baby was very low. Yesterday i went in for another appointment, 38 weeks and they stripped my membranes, stating that i was a perfect canidate for it to send me in to labor and after the doctor was done said that he would not be shocked if i was in the hospital that night. Well today i am home, not in labor, and a little disappointed that i am not having any contractions or anything for that matter. The doctor said that he would schedule an induction for February 9th so i am waiting to hear back from the hospital to make the induction secure. I am just getting so excited for this little boy to come and i sure hope it is soon so i dont go nuts.. Here is an updated picture, i am 38 weeks in the photo and feel ready to pop!!

The 15 days of Christmas!!

We had so much fun doing the 15 days of Christmas that my parents prepared for us!Coleton loved opening a bag each night and would carry around the different gifts for days.

Coleton would really get into opening them but this was the best video we could get of him opening them.He loved that most of them had glitter and you could see which one he had been carrying around by the color of glitter that was covering him. It was so fun to watch him get so excited for each ornament and i cant wait to see him on christmas!! Thanks mom and dad!

Gingerbread Candy Train!!

For my birthday, Brandons parents gave us a gingerbread kit, so for family home evening we had Coleton put it together and boy was he excited! He actually did a really good job of placing the candy on and occationally sneaking a bite!
We got a little video of him assembling!
After we had finished decorating we went to the basement to watch some tv and we noticed that Coleton had snuck away and when i walked upstairs i could see that he was by the train so i asked him what he was doing and he shrugged his shoulders and said "elmo? elmo?" When i walked closer to the table this is what i found?Him and his elmo doll!!I told Coleton that elmo would get sick if he ate all the candy and Coleton was so disappointed!

What a mouthful and a sticky mess!

Here is kind of a long video of what we found!!

Happy Birthday, Carleen!

This year for my birthday we kept it pretty simple. We actually we able to attend a baptism for one of Brandons students, Kody. Brandon was just so excited for him and it was the first student that he has taught that has been baptized. After the baptism we came home and had family come over for a little party. Before the little family party, Brandon and I went to Olive Garden for dinner by ourselves! After dinner, Brandons grandparents and parents had cake waiting for us. I got a extra large gate for the house to keep the kids from touching our couches and getting them dirty so i was pretty excited. Other than that it was a pretty simple day but it was good non the less!!

Santas Little Helper!!

Santa sent us an elf!! We woke up to an elf on our door step. Santa sent him to watch us (mostly Coleton) and see if we were being good or not!The elf watches us through out the day and keeps note of what we are doing and periodically reports to santa at the north pole at nights while we sleep. When we wake up in the mornings he is often in a different place in the house. We were able to name him and since Coleton would have named him choo or elmo we let Brandon decided what we would call him...first he wanted buddy, but i vetoed that. Then he wanted kebler and again i vetoed that! Then he decided Heber would be good so i agreed and our elf in named Heber Comstock!! Coleton does not really understand why the elf is around yet but we hope through out the next few years he will grow to love Heber when santa drops him off!!

Halloween!!

This year i was so excited for Halloween because we finally were in a neighborhood where we could go trickor-treating to people we knew and coleton had the word "please" down. He was going to be an M&M like Brandon was at his age for the trunk-or-treat and then we would pass out candy to everyone that stopped by our house. We had two scarecrows in the front of the house that i loved with some halloween stickers on the front windows and decided to carve some pumpkins
Brandon is not such a big fan of carving pumpkins ...and having coleton using a knife is not such a good idea but markers are his favorite..but i love carving pumpkins though i never finished mine : (Here is Coletons finished pumpkin! Here is Brandons finished pumpkin... looks pretty good!Mine not so done but i did get some help with it! On the night before Halloween Coleton came down with a bad case of the flu so we were not able to go trick-or treating or to pass out candy so i was so disappointed that we were not able to go out of the house for the holiday but there is always next year!!
