As you can tell his hair was pretty long which we cut over labor day weekend and now is really short but still cute. He also found a tickle me elmo doll at DI and takes it everywhere!! He has a hard time making him laugh unless he jumps on him but he still loves it. When he goes down for a nap he will give him his sippy cup and his extra pacifier and they will nap together.
Coleton has done great with the move and is a realy good helper with the tiles being so gross from all of the construction he was helping us scrub them and was doing a pretty good job,
where we knocked out the wall and get the carpent layed in the basement!!
We also got our counter tops installed!!!
Which look amazing, but it also means that we got...
A running sink which means that we also have a dishwasher that works (which means no more doing dishes in a bucket)!!!!
Our kitchen and basement are finally done which means i can cook again and have a play area for Coleton!!! We are getting so close to finishing, i cant wait to see everything done!!
We dropped Coleton off two doors down and headed to find out what we were having. They gave us huge print outs and i loved seeing the baby on the screen.
The big project was installing our new cherry wood cabinets and new stainless appliances. I wanted a electric range so Brandon and my dad had to wire the stove to work where a gas stove had been. We were amazed to find that Coleton could sleep right through all of the drilling, hammering, and sanding.
They ran in to some problems when drilling one of the cabinets to the wall when they hit a water line and had a little flood, not to big of a problem if it would not have been Saturday night at nine thirty and home depot is half an hour away and closes at ten. Luckly Brandon made it there in time and got the parts needed to fix it! When they were all in it looked great! We still didnt have a sink, a dishwasher that could be used(since you need a sink to run it) or countertops but they would be installed by the company with in a week and a half.
While boys were hard at work, my mom and i were organizing the extra bedroom with all of the boxes and extra stuff which was such a project but by the end of the weekend the room was usable and looked great. We also got all of the cabinets filled with kitchen supplies and the rest of the house cleaned up!
My dad was also able to fix my dishwasher so i can wash clothes which was so nice because i had not been able to do laundry for almost three weeks at that point so life was good.
By the end of the weekend everyone was exausted but the house looked great!! They did so much to get us organized, cleaned, and confident that we would be able to finish the house with only a few small projects.
We are so grateful for all of the help we have received from our families. We know we could not have done things with out them!!
I took a picture of the test weeks later so you can kind of see the second mark now but if you will notice the constant one (which you are suppose to compare the other to) is missing so i read it wrong. I actually had it up side down so i read it as "not pregnant" because i was in a hurry (since i was sharing the bathroom with another family) I can now claim that i was that 1 in 4 women who read a pregnancy test wrong:) After being devistated that i again was not pregnant Brandon convinced me that i needed to take another and come to find out i was pregnant!! Anyways i am due February 17th and am about 16 weeks along!! I had my first doctors appointment today (took me awhile to get a doctor with the move) and he says everything looks great and the baby and i are doing good so not much to report on. I go in, in two weeks to find out what i am having and i am so excited!!!!!
The living room is set up so Coleton and i can live here during the day since our basement is not yet finished. Rusty our painter is still working on the house along with working on the basement to tape and texture the walls so that we can lay the carpet down there.
The day we moved in we actually didnt have hot water, nor did we have a stove, cabinets, sink, or dishwasher. And the next day we learned that the two bathrooms upstairs did not have a working shower. This is a picture of our first meal in hurricane. It was a hot pocket that i cooked in the microwave which is the only thing i have to cook with!
To add to the fixing list i went to use the washer and dryer that we got with the house, i came to learn that the washer floods over and that the dryer had to be rewired so we could plug in so we wont be using it for a week or so till my dad can come and try fixing it!!
Though it seems kind of rediculous that everything is not working we are really happy to finally be in our first home. We know that we have alot to work on and fix but we think we are up to the challenge and are so grateful for the chance we have be have this home!!
Or bedroom is for the most part together but not much else is...
The old cabinets have been ripped out so the new ones can be installed over labor day weekend and so that means i have no sink or dish washer.
With the carpet being layed as we moved our stuff in, it is all in one room so i have a lot to organize. Right now we are staying at Brandons parents until i have more organized but we will be heading here to stay in a few days so i am going to have to really get to work!!
Brandons family was so great and helped us clean and pack things up, we have a lot left to do but things are getting better even though it may not look like it!
County guitar hero!!! He was really wanting it and so they were sweet enough to get him one with some money to buy a guitar for it...
After getting a guitar off ebay he had some left over money so we got a mic and a drum set. Its a ton of fun and even Coleton loves it!!
