Cheney Family Reunion!

This years cheney reunion went great. With all of the planning and preparations for it we knew it would be. Everyone was able to make it (except Bradley on his mission)This year, since the familys are getting so big, it was decided that we would try to be outside as much as we could so that it would not seem so caotic. My parents decide to trasform the shop in the back to a storage place for all of the activities and a eating area which worked great. All meals were eaten out side were we had burner, grills, warmers, sinks, tables, fridges, and everything else you would need for a meal. We also had all of the snack machines going for ice cream cones, snow cones, ice dispensers, water dispensers, cotton candy machine, and more. My mom also planned table decorations which corresponded to all the activities along with clothes for all of the grankids to wear so they would match so things looked great. Each day of the reunion had a theme like fiesta, birthday party, fourth of july, carnival, and more. The days were planned out to a T so that everyone would know the activites for the day even scheduling naps for the families so we would not get warn out. Along with the different parties that were planned for the evenings we had a great time doing little crafts like play dough, tye-dye, and decorating bags. The best thing of all was of course the pool!! With so many small children safety was first there was always at least two adults in the pool and a life guard on watch. Everyone stayed safe and had a blast. They also had snack breaks so no one would get to hungry.Things were so planned and it could not have gone any better then it did!! My parents did such a great job making these reunions special for everyone and we all had an amazing time! Thanks mom and dad!!
Here is an update of the five babies..

Comstock McCall Reunion

We were lucky this year to be able to get a week off of work to go to McCall, Idaho to be part of the Comstock reunion. We left after meeting on friday and traveled to kaysville where we spent the night. The next morning we woke up to travel the rest of the eleven hours to make it to the lodge. Coleton did great on the car ride, we had Brandons lap top so we could watch a movie, with snacks, books, and toys. I though did not do so well on the trip. I get really car sick and even though i took motions sickness medicine, i was still sick. After we got to McCall we took a shopping trip to the store to get all of the supplies for dinners that week, which i was in charge of (because i love doing it). Sunday morning we were up getting ready for church and i was still a little sick from the traveling so after sacrament meeting we came home to get me feeling better. Luckly by that evening i was feeling alot better and ready for the busy week ahead of us. We had the chance during the week to do a lot of fun activities. We went to the firestation were we got an amazing tour of their gear and trucks, we went out on the lake and did a little canoeing with Candice and her family, we went window shopping which Brandon and i love to do, went to eat at the pancake house which has great food, went swimming at the pool/hot tub, went ice skating, and just had a lot of fun being with family.Coleton loved being able to spend time with his cousins and loved being around grandparents. After a week of fun we had to headback to Cedar so that Brandon could get back to work. We had a ton of fun like we always do and cant wait for next years McCall Trip!!

Coleton Brady

We have been asked several times where Coleton got his name. Ever since I was younger, I have loved the name Cole and when we got pregnant it caught on and we have never gone back. As for his middle name Brady we named him after Brandons little brother. When Brandon was about ten years old, the family was blessed to have another little boy added to the family. Brady was to be due in the middle of October but was born on June 16, 16 weeks before his due date. The doctors estimated that if he would make it ten days that he would make a recovery, but on day nine when the nurses when to change the tape on his oxygen, he had had an reaction to the adhesive. When they pealed back the tape the nurses realized his sensitive skin had been taken off with the adhesice leaving an open sore around his mouth which allowed infection to enter his little body. On June 26th, day ten, Brady Cameron returned to be with his Heavenly Father.

Though the family was not able to spend much time with Brady here on earth, what a blessing it is to know that we can be together forever as a family. What an honor it is to have our little boy named after Brady Cameron Comstock.

Happy Anniversary!!

Well we have made it!! We have hit our two year anniversary. With things being so crazy with being hired full time, packing up our house, looking for a house, reunions coming up, and normal life we didnt have a chance to do anything big but we did get the chance to go out to dinner. Sister michelle christiansen in our ward was sweet enough to watch Coleton while we went out to eat and of course took a walk around walmart. It was nothign big but we just loved to have the chance to be together for the evening. I hope that we will have many many happy and fun years together!! I love you, honey!!

Drum Roll Please!!

We Made It!!! Brandon went to class on Thursday to find Brother Valenga there to visit. Brandon asked him if he had news for us and he said no. Brandon thought that he must have been coming to see him one last time before they made there decision. Brandon was terrified because Brother Valenga is one of those men who has a lot of weight in if you are hired of not so not having an amazing lesson for when he comes could be bad. Brandon gave his lesson like he had planned and when he was finished Brother Valenga gave some critiques and told him he wanted to talk after his next class so Brandon when to the next class he was subbing and after class was done he told Brandon that they wanted to offer him a full-time positions with the S&I program (also known as the CES program)!!! And the next big question is where are we going?? another drumroll please.....Hurricane, Utah!! The first step of business was our new hire meeting which was on the next which was Tuesday, May 16th! We went to salt lake city, utah to meet with the other 21 that got hired. Marie, my sister-in-law was so sweet to watch Coleton all day while we were gone.I was so worried because it was the first time that i left him for more then a few hours so it was ruff on me but Coleton didnt even care when i came back he was having way to much fun with his cousins. Here is Ryan and Valerie Huff who we have had the chance to work with in cedar during our first year. They to were hired and will be heading to Orem, Utah. Brandon and Ryan have become really close and we are so sad to see them leave!
The meeting was long and in dept but so much fun. They went over everything from how to teach, to all of the medical info, and technology stuff. The meals were amazing and we got to meet alot of really important couples that work in the church office building. We meet all of the other couples and got to talk with so really great people that we are so excited to be working with in the future. We are so excited to have made it into the program and can not wait to start working with those teachers in Hurricane!!

This mothers day was great! Brandon and Coleton were so cute about getting me somethings special. I have always thought that trying the infomercials would be so fun so this year he got me..... THE SHAMWOW SET!!!!!
I thought it was so cute, he was so excited to give them to me that he woke me up early and brought me to the kitchen where he dumped a glass of water on the floor and handed me the present. It was so cute!!!

Just waiting around!!

With there being a delay in us hearing if we have a full-time position or not, we are trying to just enjoy every moment right now. Knowing that no matter if we have a job in a few months, our life will change drastically. As we wait, we have been able to enjoy the things that we do have...
#1 We have a little boy that is becoming silly, just like his dad! He seems to know exactly when to giggle when Brandon makes a joke or plays a trick on him and is now trying his hardest to be like daddy and do it back to him.#2 He is learning to explore! The simplest items are just so exciting to him. He loves grabbing Brandons screw drivers and measuring tapes and carrys them everywhere and laundry baskets are just so funny:0) #3 He is learning to lay. From the time he was born he has been on the go. He is not cuddly and did not lay down for anything but after playing hard he has found the joy of just laying back and watching a baby story with mom!

#4 His little scoot! I cant wait for him to start walking but i am going to miss his scoot so much. He has gotten so fast and though it wears out the bottom in his clothes and always has the same leg dirty, It has been so fun to see him change.#5 Last of all, Coletons bright blue eye! Where every we go whether to the store, church, or to see family we hear constantly how cute is big blue eyes are. I know that i do take it for granted alot but his big blue eyes to make me melt and i am glad to realize everyday that no matter how fast he grows, what hes up to, or where every we will be those big blue eyes will be there. Though we wish we knew where we will be i am glad to see what we have now.

Crazy kid!

Here is our little man, wow is he growing and getting into trouble! This just shows me how much they can learn from watching you...brandon loves the root beer from the glass bottles. The other day i let him get a case of them fo a treat. so here is Brandons empty root beer bottle that Coleton thought he would take a swig of...I know, another think that makes me sound horrible...i am trying to teach him to like watching TV.But this one is my favorite... He love being outside so much that when i crack the sliding glass door open for a breeze he will throw things out so that i will have to open the door to bring them back in sometimes its a shoe, pacifier, toys, but the one in the picture is the telephone, man was i confused when it started ringing. He is getting so smart and can hardly keep up!

No news yet!

Thought we would just let everyone know that though we were suppose to find out on the 17th of April if we are hired to teach full-time next year or not. Brother Thompson, his advisor, came and told him that for some reason we will not know for another 2-4 weeks if we are hired(or not). We are guessing with the hiring freeze there are not as many opening so it will take them a bit longer to decide who they are going to hire so we just have to hold out for a few weeks. We will keep you informed if we find anything out!!
