One year Anniversary

We just cant believe it, it has been a year since we were married in the Salt Lake City Temple for time and all eternity! So much as changed since last summer. We are so close to graduating from BYU Idaho, we have a little boy who is quite adorable, and planning on moving to cedar city in a few months. When we got married we planned on being at school for a few more years, we were going to wait a bit to have a baby, never thought that we would have the chance to be back in Brandons home town.
Well for our anniversary, Brandon surprised me with tickets to a BYU Idaho college dance which funny enough was one of the things i never got to do when i was single at college so i was so excited when i got to dress up in a formal, do my hair and leave the baby to go out on our special date. I had my best friend, puff, come with some of her roommates and the watched coleton while they watched a movie. We were so excited to get out and be alone. We are pretty sure that we were the only married couple there but it was fun non the less. The dance was on the friday night before our anniversary so on our real anniversary we went out to eat at a local restraurant called the Backyard were they make really good burgers and ice cream! Though we didnt get to have a little second honeymoon (and for us it would really be our first) we had fun just going out on the town which we dont get to do very often.

Blessing Day!

I have always been dreaming of the day that my little boy would be blessed! On Sunday May 25 Brandon blessed Coleton in his old home ward in Cedar City, Utah. We were lucky enough to have Don and Deniece (my parents), Caralee (my little sister), Joleen and Tom (Brandons parents), Dee and Lorna Wiser (Brandons grandparents), Candice and Andrew (Brandons sister and brother-in-law), and Grace and Grant (Brandons neice and nephew) come for the special event. Coleton was dressed in a little white overalls and vest that my mom bought and it was matched with a whiteshirt that Brandon wore when he was a baby and a bow tie that Brandons mom made for him. He looks so handsome!

We were also suprised how well Coleton did on the trip to Utah! We drove 4 hours to Kaysville and he slept the whole way and then when straight to the airport were as soon as we got on the little, very loud plane he fell right asleep until we walked into the airport when he woke up to greet his grandparents. He was so good the whole trip, he was around more people then he is definately use to so he was kind of on over load all weekend! We were all amazed what a little trooper he was though!

Big News!

We finally heard back from the CES program in Cedar City! Brandon was offered a part-time job as a seminary teacher at cannon view high school! We are not sure the exact time he will be teaching but it will either be at 7:15am or 1:05pm so we are hoping to hear back soon. We found out that in june and August he will have training and meetings and since he will still be in school in June, he will not be able to get out of it in August which means that he wont be able to go to the family reunions that we already schedule :( so i will probably have to go alone! School will start the middle of August so we are moving to Cedar City. Brandons parents are remodeling a house about 10 minutes from their house and they are allowing us to stay their for a year so we are so excited to be in something bigger and brandon is excited to be able to do yard work!! I am just excited to be in a real town, real ward, with a bigger place to live then our two bedroom apt!! This means that when we graduate in July (Brandon with Bachelors and me with my associates) off we go to Utah! We got a phone call the other day from Brandons sister, Candice, and she told us that she is pregnant!! We thought that it was ironic that everyone on Brandons side of the family and everyone on my side of the family were pregnant at the same time (only about two weeks but still) we thought that was pretty funny. We head down to Cedar City in two weeks to bless Coleton. I am a little nervous because we will be flying from Salt Lake City to Cedar City and who knows how the flight will be with him? I hope it goes well!

Getting back to a schedule

We were so excited to get all the help we could get when Coleton was born! He is a little angel but sometimes i just needed a nap. We were so lucky to have Brandons parents come down the night he was born to help us out for a day or so and then take Brandon back to Cedar City to try to get hired there. My mom and dad were also able to come down that day since they were already coming down to see my brother, Brent, who that Sunday was going to be blessing their little girl Alexis. Brandons mom and dad were with us when we came home Monday afternoon and they helped me get situated in the house, helped get prescriptions filled, and other little errands. They were also sweet enough to drive Brandon to Utah so i could have a car in case i needed it while he was gone. When he left on Tuesday morning and i was left home by myself i has so many ward members and close friends that brought meals, help him while i showered, or just came and saw me which was so nice! I then got more help when my mom was so willing to take a week out of her busy Schedule to come and help me. She came on Wednesday afternoon and made meals, deep cleaned my dirty house, let me take naps, went shopping, and kept me company while my hubby was gone. I loved the time i got to spend with her, in such a large family it was nice to have lots of one on one time with her. Well, after a week Brandon was able to come home and finally spend some time with his new baby boy since he left the day after we came home. I would e-mail him pictures daily so he would know what he looked like since they change so fast the first little while. I could not have made it with out Brandon if my mom would not been there to help me out! Brandon has loved being around Coleton and though he has to start school again he is so glad to be home with him.

First Baths

Its always funny how things dont turn out as planned. I knew that nobody likes to be cold and wet so i expected when we gave coleton his first spnge bath after being home two days that he would be quite upset but to my surprise he actually really enjoyed it. He just layed there completely content!
On the other hand, when his ambilical cord fell of just after five days and i decided to give him a real bath in nice warm water he kind of had a cow!
It was the first time we really heard him cry,it was kind of cute that he was so upset. I just could not believe it. I had expected that he would love to be in the tub, boy was i wrong!

Though the bath was more tramatizing that i thought, he really loved when i scrubbed his head!
Like always, things are never what you expect, but its fun learning it as you go!

First Round of Pictures

Here are some pictures of us in the hospital and coming home. Well the plan was to be induced on Monday the 14th so i was going to take a picture of my stomach right before i went to the hopital, so that is not what happened and when started to bleed i tried to get to the hospital as soon as i could so no picture was taken so after i got my epidural we took a picture of me in bed, close enough i guess!
Once i got the epidural we just waited around so brandon chilled in the chair for most of it!
Things went quick and here is them letting me hold Coleton for the first time!!

Here he is crying a little but we really have not heard him cry hardly at all the nurses had to make him cry when he was born because he was content. Him opening his eyes for the first time!
Coleton and Brandon having some time together!
This picture is priceless, three generations of comstocks. Brandons Grandpa Comstock died about a week after we were sealed. We miss him and wish he could have seen Coleton and be part of this picture!

This is a picture of when we got home, all scrunched in a ball. The Cheney family had a cool experience. Out of the six girls (remember that one (Caralee) is 15 years old) five of us that were married were pregnant. The day after we got home from the hospital my brother brent and his little girl Alexis (one month) came to visit us from Idaho Falls.

Its A Boy!!

We are proud to announce the birth of Coleton Brady Comstock born on Saturday April 18, 2008 at Madison Memorial Hospital at 11:51am!! He was 7lbs 8oz and 19inches long!

It all started Friday night when we were out on our date i didn't seem to feel good. Knowing that i was getting closer to my due date which was April 18Th i figured i would be feeling well. i had already dilated to a three and was 90% effaced i could go anytime i still though it was a normal pregnancy yucky feeling. That night after cleaning the kitchen and watch a jazz game we went to bed to see if i could sleep it off. Around 5 am i woke up with a small stomach ache from what i thought was food i had eaten at wingers. I layed in bed and after an hour started to cramp up i went to the bathroom and realized that i was starting to bleed. Afraid that something might be wrong with the baby and calling my sister Caetie, we headed to the hospital about 7am and when we arrived to labor and delivery (which was five minutes from our apt) i was having regular contractions that were 2 minutes apart and i was dilated to a 7. At that point the contractions were much more severe so i quickly asked for an epidural! After receiving that, i was able to rest, call family, and talk with Brandon. Around 11am i was fully dilated and was just waiting for doctor Hopkin to arrive to deliver the little guy! Once he came i pushed about five times and without even feeling him, out came our little man at 11:51am. It was purely amazing Brandon was able to cut the cord and he was taken to be wiped up. His oxygen levels were low and they wanted to take him to the NICU but they decided that skin to skin with the mother was better for him so i was then able to hold him. I am just so grateful that Coleton was born safe and healthy, what a little blessing he is to us and we could not be more happy with him.

Easter Fun

With Brandon being so busy with school we dont get to much time together as a couple so we took advantage of decorating eggs! On Easter Sunday i boiled some eggs and off we went we tried our hardest but really how creative can you really get with eggs?? So i quess you can get pretty creative!?! Well we tried our hardest and it was fun! I just love easter! We made baskets for each other, i got brandon some little toys from the dollar store like a checkers game, paddle ball, basket ball hoop, and of course candy. I think he liked them. He got me chocolates, a stuffed duck, and more chocolates (well i am pregnant!) We are just so excited to be getting our other little gift in a few weeks, as you cant really see i am very much pregnant and just waiting to pop so we will have to just wait and see!

Two Weeks Left

Any moment!!! Well, i am not sure it really is any moment but i am sure hoping that it is. I went to my doctors appointment yesterday and i was glad to find out that i was 80% effaced and dialated to a three! i was thrilled! Doctor Hopkins set an induction date for monday April 14th for me just in case i have not gone on my own. I am just waiting around and am getting a little bored and yet still really tired. I have been trying to get the house in order but there is really only so much you can do if you dont know exactly when its going to happen. Brandon finishes up his classes this week so i am really excited for him. He has 24 credits and he just has two test left until he is done. He just did his seminary student teaching(teaching for a week) to see if they are interested in hiring him to be a full-time teacher and he did so well that they are very interested in giving him a position to teacher here in Rexburg! I though that was great but we are not to thrilled about staying around here so they are allowing Brandon to go down to Cedar City and teach for a few days and see if they would be interested in hiring him down there. They agreed to allow him to go down and teach but he has to go down during the school break which is the week the baby is due so the plan is that when i am induced on Monday the 14th and he has a chance to see the baby he will the drive down to Cedar City and teach Wednesday and Friday at a local high school. It will be interesting to see how things work out but my mom is planning on coming down to help me and drive me home from the hospital since i wont have a car or a husband here!

When will it leave!!

This year in Rexburg, has been crazy. Brandon learned in class that this year had the longest strech they havee ver had of the outside tempurature never coming above freezing and the most snow they recieved in fourty years. With only one car, Brandon and i had to switch off who was able to use the car. Brandon had to get to the school every morning by 7:30am and i had to be a work at 8am. Since I could not bring myself to get up at 7am to get ready to take him to school i decided to just walk(during the summer i rode my bike) the half mile to the sinclair station. With the mass amounts of snow and being pregnant i decided that walking would be safest, well so i thought. In rexburg they are not so great about plowing the roads and shoveling the sidewalks. Once i walked down Trejo Street, where their are sidewalks, i have to cross a VERY busy street, Yellowstone Highway! I would be terrified to walk across in fear i would fall and an on coming car would not be able to stop in time on ice roads. I walked through snow up to my knees and the Call family just were amazed when i would walk into work with a red face and snow everywhere. Now that i am finished working and now longer have to trek through the snow every morning, i wonder to myself when is it going to melt?!? With a month until the baby comes i have noticed that there are still alot of snow all over. I would love to bring our little guy home without snow on the ground but i am thinking that it may be around until we move. We want so bad to be able to go outside but there is just snow everywhere. The locals here say that all the snow has allwayed melted before April General Conference but everyone is afraid that if the snow melts to fast we could definately have a flood on our hands but no need to worry, we live on the second floor!!!
