Kenzie Comstock is here!

Well she's here!!! Kenzie comstock joined the family August 22nd 2013  @9:27pm weighing 7lb 14oz and 20.5 in long!! Her labor was a strange one for me but eventful like always!! The day started off like normal, Coleton was picked up for school and I was a bit discouraged that I was still pregnant. Sleeping was becoming difficult heartburn was bad and I was just done being big!! As his carpool mom (tricia proctor) came she asked me how I was doing and when I said, "I just need to be not pregnant anymore!" She gave me a little tip on how to start labor that worked for her! I, being despite, decided after naptime i would try to see if it would work so i laid down (since it was my kids nap time) and after tried to see if I could start some contractions. I started "the trick" and with in a few minutes contraction started, Awesome! Well they only lasted while I was doing this trick so I continued for another 20 minutes til Brandon got off work when he said if I was having contraction we needed to leave for the hospital since I have a tendency to dial ate quickly. Knowing they probably wouldn't last I told him to go pick up a pizza for dinner and we would see if my contractions continued. While he left the contractions continued and were about 8-10 minutes apartish! When he got back he was kind of panicky since my labors go fast so we called Brandon's mom and had her head down to stay with the kids. While we were waiting for her, we decided to have the neighbor girl come at about 5:15 and stay since joleen had a 40 min drive to our house and we had a 30 min drive to the hospital. I am always a bit nervous that they will send me home because its false labor but we went anyway! We got there about 6 and they checked me and I was still at a four which is where I was at when dr Thompson checked me at Brooklyn's app the day before so they said if I didn't progress to a five within an hour they wouldn't be able to keep me! We were a bit nervous that since the labor didnt really start on its own they might not be helping me dialate but since it was my fourth, the nurse knew we lived a ways away, and that my labor went fast she said she might be able to stretch the truth about being a five but we would have to see what happened in an hour. She said i was still posterior and that the baby needed to desend more and that it might be a long night for us since i wasnt quite ready which shocked me!! At 7pm they came into check me and thankfully I had dilated to a five so they admitted me!! They then got me checked in, epidural in, and called the dr! About eight o'clock he came and checked me and I was at a seven and he broke my water! Since the nurse had said it might be a while we had Brandon go get dinner for himself and I would rest! About 8:45 came, Brandon was back and I felt like I really really needed to go to the bathroom which was really strange for me since I was completely numb!! I tried to call a nurse (but being dumb I was pushing the wrong button) after waiting for a nurse that I never called I had Brandon go get one about 9pm because I could definitely tell some thing was going on! well the nurse came and rolled me over(I was on my side with my legs closed on top of each other ) and as she checked me she said " o boy, you are definitely ready, Don't push!" This labor was different then others because normally I can't feel any pressure but this one I definitely could and boy was it hard not to push!! They quickly called dr. Thompson and he came as fast as he could! They had the on call dr there because I was so close but luckily i was able to breathe through the contractions without pushing and by 9:15 dr. Thompson got there! I pushed a few times ( Kenzie's arm was up by her face so they had to move her a bit) and at 9:27pm she was born, purple and healthy! :) since I had to wait to push the nurse was able to stretch me a bit and I didn't tear!! Yay! The nurse was completely shocked that with in two hrs of being in labor I delivered so she was glad she didn't send me home!:) she said she was not even going to check me again for a few more hrs so she was shocked! The labor was pain free but it was weird because I could still feel everything they were doing which I know doesn't make much sense but it went great and they got us both cleaned up and off to recovery we went!!
I love the stay at the hospital the first night they came in a lot but the second night they took her for about14 hrs so I could sleep which was amazing I was able to eat three meals without interruptions, sleep, shower and enjoy being with Brandon! The kids came and visited along with grandma and gramps wiser, Tom and Joleen, Nate and Camille Jensen, and Tessa Pierson. Finally on Saturday afternoon, sadly, we packed up and went home! The kids were at Brandon parents for the night so we were able to spend the day with just the three of us which was great! Sunday afternoon Brandon went and picked up the kids and the craziness began!! We are officially a family of six!!

Coletons first day of kindergarten!

We have a kindergartener!! Coleton started school at hurricane elementary! He was so excited to get started, he was registered for half day kindergarten going in the afternoon but when he was tested they found he was a little behind were he needed to be so they put him in extended day which was great for me! (And him of course :) he has mrs. Hendricks for OEK and then Mrs. Creel for afternoon! After he graduated from the online preschool (upstart) we got him his Superhero backpack and loves it! Since he is doing extended day he also got a lunchbox (that's ninja turtle) since he gets to stay and eat lunch! I think out of all he new changes he is most excited to eat lunch at school!  Since I had a dr app on his first day of school Brandon took him during his lunch hour! We are so excited to have Coleton in school and excited for this year to start!

38 weeks!

Well, I'm still pregnant! Today I went in and they checked me again! I'm at a three! They stripped my membranes again and the dr said he doesn't think that I will make it til tomorrow ( tomorrow brookie has her 18 month appointment) I asked him if I don't go tonight  if at brookie s appointment if he would strip them again and he said he would! Lets hope I don't make it to the appointment!

Brooklyn and her baby doll!

Last night, I was trying to get caught up on laundry before the baby comes, Brandon was taking a nap after his first day back at school, and the kids were down stairs playing and the house seemed calm. I figured if the kids were being quiet I would continue with folding until Coleton came up the stairs asking why the stairs were wet? Confused I asked him it they had spilt anything to which he answered no. While I was talking to Coleton, Brooklyn came up the stairs with her cabbage patch baby doll in hand and as I looked at her doll I noticed water dripping from it? I asked brookie why her doll was wet and you could tell by her face and excitement that she was proud of whatever she had done! I went down stairs to find that the water in the "not so recently cleaned" toilet was empty and realized that she had given her baby doll a bath in the only water she could reach!! Lets just say the baby doll then got a Real bath from mom :)

College roommate visit!

This weekend I got a surprise visit from some old roommates! After church, we got a facebook message saying that lyndi B and Niccol H were driving through Hurricane and wanted to stop by and visit!! I was so excited to see them since I had not seen these two since puffs wedding over a year ago! They came over and meet the kids for the first time and we chatted! It was fun to see them as they headed to our other roommate Lizzys wedding in San Diego! To bad they had to see me 37 weeks pregnant, but it was still worth it :)

Girls Camp and Trek!

Even though I was very pregnant I did not want to miss out on the fun of summer so I made sure to have activities to look forward to! At the end of June our ward had girls camp and I decided that I was going to go the whole three days! It was so fun and I loved it! I was very pregnant but the girls thought it was so funny to mention that to me. I did a few fun pranks on the girls and had such a fun time being with the young women. I felt great, slept great, and it was a fun get away! (I actually don't have any pictures from camp :(
Brandon also had the chance to go with the youth on the trek in July. They wanted us to be a ma and pa but we had just found out we were pregnant and figured that was not the best idea so Brandon went as an uncle and had a lot of fun interacting with students in a more casual way! Brandon stayed home with the kids while I went to camp and I stayed with the kids during the trek! It was weird to not be together but we both had a great time!
