Everyone Loves Elmo!

About two years ago, we were at DI and found a tickle-me-Elmo that still looked and worked great! With Coleton at the time very interested in Elmo we got it. He loved Elmo and often did things like this ....(pictures from December 2009)With Elmos mouth wide open, Coleton couldnt help but fill it with things. We thought that it was pretty cute but never expected it from another child two years later.... Hayden is also very obsessed with Elmo and as i was cleaning up the kitchen the other morning i watched as Elmos month was once again being filled with a variety of things. After a few minutes he vanished and as i went looking for him this is where i found him...

After many things had been loaded into Elmos month, by both children now, Hayden realized it was time to brush Elmos Teeth? ok maybe gums! He placed him in the sink, got his tooth brush with of course tooth paste, and went to work telling elmo every few seconds "ahhh" so elmo would keep his month open. Then of course after Elmo it was Haydens turn! :0) The two boys are so very different in so many ways but there are days like these were they dont seem so different after all!

Snow Canyon Half- Marathon!!

The day that Brandon has been training for finally came!! He started with the desire to run a half-marathon and did so great preparing. Him and his friend Nate Jensen trained for months running down Zions Canyon and taking runs at nights when the weather cooled off to get ready and then this past weekend they ran there first big race. The big day came and though we live in a pretty warm area the day of the race was freezing, literally! He had trained in 100 all the way down to 50 degree weather but boy we were not expecting to to be in the 30s! The morning of the race was raining and really windy and off the boys went to run 13.2 miles! They bundled up at 8am and started their run! Nate and Brandon ran together for the first few miles then Nate got a burst of energy and ran a head while Brandon stayed on pace. The boys and i headed over a few hours later to meet up with him at the finish line. It was so cold and the boys hated being out in the wind though by then it had stopped raining!
There were about 3 thousand runners so it was really hard to find Brandon since he was not in his normal running gear (he had gotten his running jacket the night before so i could bearly remember what he was wearing which doesnt help when you have two cold, crying children when you are trying to take pictures of him running past!) But i noticed him right it time! He made it to the end, honestly it looked like it was a miserable run but he was so proud of himself for finishing under his estimated time. He was really wanting to make it under 2 hours and make it in 1 hour 58 minutes!!!! He got a pretty fancy metal for running the race and they had a lot of cool snacks for them afterwards! We are just so proud of Brandon for sticking with running. There have been quite a few injuries that he has had to deal with blisters, foot strains, knee problem, back problems, and quite a bit more but he has kept running through all of them to keep himself healthy for the boys and me. He has lost quite a bit of weight (though i have been gaining it with the pregnancy) and he is looking and feeling great! Keep up the good work, Honey!!

Happy Halloween!!

Since last year, our little family all dressed up as the incredibles, there was high expectations of what we would be this year. Brandon has alot of his students in our ward or in our neighborhood that were wondering what we would be this year so this year we decided to be....M&M's!! We had two little M&ms and we were the packages!! Almost everyone asked if i made the costumes and though i would love to take credit for them, i did not. Brandons mom made these costumes when Brandon was the little green M&M so she was sweet enough to let us borrow them! Everyone seem to think they were pretty cute so i think we were a hit! This year we went to the community center halloween party which was held on saturday night which the boys loved and then on Monday night we went to our wards trunk-or-treat. Coleton and Hayden had a great time and we got a good little stash of candy. After hitting all of the cars, we passed a few pieces out and then headed home to pass out candy for those trick or treaters coming through the neighborhood. The boys seem to enjoy passing out the candy more then trick-or-treating themselves. Coleton loved running to the door throwing the door open and yelling "HAPPY HALLOWEEN" as he then searched through the bowl of candy deciding which candy would be best for each indivdual child. Some of the kids were waiting a couple of minutes to recieve a snickers but everytime i would tell him to hurry because the kids were waiting he would say in a destressed voice "Im trying to hurry mom!" He just wanted to make sure that everyone got just what they wanted ;)Hayden just tried his hardest to get a piece of candy into someones bag which only happened probably twice all night. As each child left our house, Coleton yelled once again, "Bye, Happy Halloween!" By the end of the night, we were all exausted and ready for bed but the boys had a lot of fun and this year halloween was a success!
Happy Halloween Everyone!
