Merry Christmas 2010!

Christmas this year was so much fun! It seems the more kids we have and the older they get the more fun that it is! This year i planned on getting up really early but brandon had another plan for us he made me wait til about five. Since i was already up waiting, i decided to get ready for the day and do a little blogging.
At five we got the boys up and let them come out though they were both pretty tired Coleton and Hayden were both thrilled when they saw what Santa had brought them!!

Hayden got a vacuum that talks when you roll it, Coleton got a miniture set of Toy Story Figurines, Brandon got a book of this poems that he wrote over the Christmas season and some trumpets for his class (for the walls of Jerico), and I got a wedding Band!!!!! (When we got married we didnt really have the money to get a wedding band so i only had an engagment ring (which was the wrong size) so i have not been wearing a wedding ring for the past 3.5 years so we got a little 2mm silver band to go with it and got my engagement ring sized and polished yay!!)After they had a chance to play with there toys from Santa we opened some of the other things they got from us and Grandparents!Hayden got some little cars and Mr. Potato head!Coleton got a little helicopter and Toy Story nightlights,And Brandon was waiting patiently for his big present.....A remote control RC!

It had a lot of cool settings like roming mode where it would act real and drive around, it would follow you when you called for it, and would sense the walls while you were driving it so it would not hit them which was exciting for me!!! All in all the morning was great!!

After getting done opening presents we decided to go to see Brandons family since Candice wasnt able to come for Christmas. Coleton loaded up his toys in the backpack and off we went! The boys got some clothes, farross wheel, and truck!I got clothes, and Brandon got some jazz tickets!!! (game is Feb 6)And one of the most special was Joleen made/gave us a copy of Bradys(Brandons little brother that passed away) scrapbook with everything that happened with him. It was so special and precious and we are so grateful for he taking the time to make it! That is one of those gift that will always be close to our hearts!Christmas was just so fun and we are so grateful for all those who thought of us and feel so blessed this Christmas season! We are so grateful for this time of year and for the birth of our Savior. We hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve!

Since, of course, Brandon didnt have to work, we figured we would take the opportunity to have some fun so we went to Fiesta Fun center to play some games! Coleton wanted to play one of the games that are kind of risky but he did it all by himself and got a ton of tickets!!We let Coleton take a drive in the mini cars, played some games, and got a few little toys with our tickets! It was a fun little get away! After that we decided we really needed to finish taking our neighbor gifts so we went out to deliver them! It was a tad chilly but not bad after we got home we ate our big three foot sandwich and then opened some of the gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Cheney! We got a book of pictures from all the families and from the Cheney Reunion, and the boys got some nice soft pajamas and new fleece blankets which they were both so excited for! Brandon got a stud finder and i got hotpot holders my mom made for me. We changed them in to there new PJs and read them The Night Before Christmas and off to bed they went. Hayden went to bed quickly but Coleton not so much! He was up til about 10:30pm. Brandon rocked him, layed next to him, got him more milk, but after about an hour of this Brandon asked him "Coleton why arent you falling asleep??" and in a little whisper he answered "Santa comin!" He had been crying all day that he really wanted a buzz doll and so it was driving him crazy to wait for another day. After another hour went by Brandon asked him "Coleton you need to go to bed so that Santa can come!" Coleton then answered in a sad voice "but i want to see him!?" It was cute that he was so excited but we were sure glad when he fell asleep! We had a great day spending it together as a family and we look forward to the many Christmas eves we will have in the future!

The Twelve days of Christmas

We were so blessed to be given the twelve days of Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Cheney this year! Coleton had so much fun opening one each night or during Brandons lunch break! We got ornaments that had a little thought with each and a little toy for both boys to enjoy which they did. There were little balls for them to play with, stickers of the manger, stuffed animals, and of course Coletons favorites were the candy! We knew it must have taken alot of preporation to get it ready but we loved it and are grateful for thinking of us!!

Walking!

While we were in Kaysville for Thanksgiving, Hayden began attempting to walk and when Brandon walked in to the house after being gone for four days, Hayden took his first steps right to him. It was adorable and since then he has been doing really good! Coleton didnt walk exclusively until he was a week over a year but Hayden has definately beat him. He took his first steps at nine and a half months and by ten months doesnt even crawl anymore. Everyone that sees him is quite confused at the fact that he is already walking but i am pretty sure that he started walking to keep us with Coleton, crawling for him was to slow (considering he only crawled for two weeks or so). Here is a video of him walking a few weeks ago. He is doing, so much better and we are hoping that by Christmas morning he can walk out to see his presents but we will see!! Enjoy!

Lights go out!

For the past four days it has been raining which is really unusual for Hurricane! We rarely get rain and so the landscaping has been having a hard time adjusting. Major flooding has been happening in St. George and we are now in a state of emergancy. Well last night about 6:30 our house became very dark. All of Hurricane lost there power for about and hour and a half and though many people were a little annoyed by it, I Loved It!! It was so fun! We got our candles out, sat in the living room, and just enjoyed the quiet (except Coleton panicking yelling "mommy turn on lights, turn on lights mommy" over and over again) but it was really fun to sit there with our candle light. Now i have to admit i liked it for an hour and a half but i dont know how long i could have gone but it was one of those moments were i finally started to feel like it was Christmas which for some reason this year took me a while to get but none the less i got it but it was a fun little evening for us!

Decorating for Christmas!

Our neighborhood is really great about decorating for holidays which can often make us look like slackers. No matter the holiday, they seem to have a great decor so we figured it would be a good idea for us to put up some outside lights. Since we dont have any, and they are dang expensive, we decided to ask Brandons parents if we could borrow some of there old lights and reindeer. They even came down to help string them up!! When Brandon went out to finish the lights Coleton went out to help him, it was raining but neither of them seem to mind! On the inside of the house we went very simple!! We had our snow globe collection (one for each christmas so we are up to 4), our nativities (which of course Hayden kept stealing baby Jesus), we had our stockings and our new christmas tree which my older brother gave us. The decorations were not as much as usual but it was very fitting this year!!
