The 15 days of Christmas!!

We had so much fun doing the 15 days of Christmas that my parents prepared for us!Coleton loved opening a bag each night and would carry around the different gifts for days.

Coleton would really get into opening them but this was the best video we could get of him opening them.He loved that most of them had glitter and you could see which one he had been carrying around by the color of glitter that was covering him. It was so fun to watch him get so excited for each ornament and i cant wait to see him on christmas!! Thanks mom and dad!

Gingerbread Candy Train!!

For my birthday, Brandons parents gave us a gingerbread kit, so for family home evening we had Coleton put it together and boy was he excited! He actually did a really good job of placing the candy on and occationally sneaking a bite!
We got a little video of him assembling!
After we had finished decorating we went to the basement to watch some tv and we noticed that Coleton had snuck away and when i walked upstairs i could see that he was by the train so i asked him what he was doing and he shrugged his shoulders and said "elmo? elmo?" When i walked closer to the table this is what i found?Him and his elmo doll!!I told Coleton that elmo would get sick if he ate all the candy and Coleton was so disappointed!

What a mouthful and a sticky mess!

Here is kind of a long video of what we found!!

Happy Birthday, Carleen!

This year for my birthday we kept it pretty simple. We actually we able to attend a baptism for one of Brandons students, Kody. Brandon was just so excited for him and it was the first student that he has taught that has been baptized. After the baptism we came home and had family come over for a little party. Before the little family party, Brandon and I went to Olive Garden for dinner by ourselves! After dinner, Brandons grandparents and parents had cake waiting for us. I got a extra large gate for the house to keep the kids from touching our couches and getting them dirty so i was pretty excited. Other than that it was a pretty simple day but it was good non the less!!

Santas Little Helper!!

Santa sent us an elf!! We woke up to an elf on our door step. Santa sent him to watch us (mostly Coleton) and see if we were being good or not!The elf watches us through out the day and keeps note of what we are doing and periodically reports to santa at the north pole at nights while we sleep. When we wake up in the mornings he is often in a different place in the house. We were able to name him and since Coleton would have named him choo or elmo we let Brandon decided what we would call him...first he wanted buddy, but i vetoed that. Then he wanted kebler and again i vetoed that! Then he decided Heber would be good so i agreed and our elf in named Heber Comstock!! Coleton does not really understand why the elf is around yet but we hope through out the next few years he will grow to love Heber when santa drops him off!!

Happy Thanksgiving

This year for thanksgiving, we were able to head up toKaysville after Brandon got out of school on Wednesday and spend it with some of the Cheneys! The house was decorated for christmas and Coleton had a ton of fun looking and all of the great decorations and of course seeing my parents cho cho train which he asked to see often. We were able to have thanksgiving dinner with my parents, my brother Curtis and his family, Caralee, and my aunt Crystal and uncle Danny. It was a lot of fun just chatting and doing the normal thanksgiving stuff. We had cinnamon rolls, regular rolls, turkey, potatos and gravy, jellos, green bean casserole and of course pies and my moms famous christmas candy. We had a chance to watch he parade, which is one of my favorite things to do. e went up to salt lake to watch the lighting of temple squareon Friday night with my sister caralee. It was pretty cold and really packed so we didnt stay long but it was sure fun to head up and see them. Saturday we went window shopping, like we love to do, and just had a ton of fun spending time with my parents. Sunday came to fast and we had to headed home. Thanksgiving was so much fun and we were so lucky to be able to spend it with family! Happy Thanksgiving!

Whats he up to??

It has been a while since i have just posted some cute things that Coleton is up to so here are just a few that i can think of!!I know it might not look like it but he is a sorter! He has a way of organizing his toys and setting them up that is just so cute! He likes to line up all of his cars, separate things by color and organize by kind of animals. He loves pancakes and eats them in stacks of fives. Here he was trying to make his own pancakes out of syrup and boy did it make a mess!He loves to cook!

He has learned to push chairs around to help him see and help me at making meals which is not so great sometimes!
He loves the water! Baths or showers he cant seem to get enough but once you get him out you better have a big towel and his Jazz Blanket to keep him warm!!He likes to take my lip gloss and chap stick and break into them! This is something we like to not tell daddy:(

He loves trains or as he calls them choos! We got a christmas village that has a train in it and he runs to see it when he wakes up in the morning and will stare at it most of the morning! That is what are little boy is up to right now!

Halloween!!

This year i was so excited for Halloween because we finally were in a neighborhood where we could go trickor-treating to people we knew and coleton had the word "please" down. He was going to be an M&M like Brandon was at his age for the trunk-or-treat and then we would pass out candy to everyone that stopped by our house. We had two scarecrows in the front of the house that i loved with some halloween stickers on the front windows and decided to carve some pumpkins
Brandon is not such a big fan of carving pumpkins ...and having coleton using a knife is not such a good idea but markers are his favorite..but i love carving pumpkins though i never finished mine : (Here is Coletons finished pumpkin! Here is Brandons finished pumpkin... looks pretty good!Mine not so done but i did get some help with it! On the night before Halloween Coleton came down with a bad case of the flu so we were not able to go trick-or treating or to pass out candy so i was so disappointed that we were not able to go out of the house for the holiday but there is always next year!!

Brandon hard at work!

While I was at my sisters watching the five children, Brandon was up to something fishy at the house. Every time i called he seemed to be a tad distracted and would tell me that he was making somethings special for coleton and i! Unsure of what he could be doing when we came home this is what we had found....Upstairs in the nursery he put up some greenery, made the pictures on the wall (from scratch may i add!)Hung the monkey back on the wall, found the rocker glider on craigs list for a sweet deal...and hung the clock and shelf. I love it! It was just what i wanted it to look like! Though i love the nursery, Brandon is most proud of Coletons room....He wanted to make it have a car theme so once again he found a great deal on craigs list and got the car bed..Found a car mat at Target and went online to find some real street signs.. He also redid some of our old furniture to make some really cute bool shelves along with getting some old license plates to hang up!
Everything looks adorable and Coleton absolutely loves it. He put alot of time and effort into designing everything and the pictures just dont do it justice! Thanks honey!!

Carleen Comstock Halle!!

I had a chance this past week to try out having five kids! My sister Cristeen, was hitting her ten year anniversary and her husband planned an amazing cruise so i agreed to watch their four children while they would be gone! She has Spencer, 7, Jenna, 6, Breanna, 3, and Benjamin, 18 months, so with Coleton, 18 months, it was quite the adventure! They left on a thursday and return a wednesday and with no way to get a hold of them or talk to them through out the week we had some interesting moments.Along with the normal daily activities of breakfast, getting ready for school, homework, dinner, naps, bedtime(with practically twin 18 months olds)and keeping things cleaned up, we had alot of fun. We went to chuckie cheese one of the days, Mcdonalds one day, they had their primary program(which was adorable), had Spencer home sick one day, played some games, played the wii, watched cartoons, and played outside (when the weather was nice). Though i absolutely love my neices and nephews there were moments during the week when i wondered to myself "what have i gotten my self into" but in the end everything turned out great. Cristeen and Brian came home to four safe kids, not really so healthy (just barely missed them all getting sick when i left), they were glad to have both parents back. The week went great and i decided that having five wouldnt be bad if they were as good as these ones are!!

Fun in Hurricane!!

It has been really fun adjusting to our new life in hurricane!
#1 We love the weather!!
It always seems warm we have great summers, great winters (consisting of no snow) and great weather in between!
#2 We love our backyard!
With the great weather, having a back yard with grass is great to go out and play or just sit out and chat at nights, we love it!
#3 We love the activities

We have had a chance to be part of a lot of activities because Brandon works at he school. The seminary teachers do the chains at the home high school football games. The picture of Coleton was right before we went to the high school home coming parade which he really enjoyed

#4 We kind of enjoy little projects? This one i am trying to convince my self that we enjoy them...We have been spending most Saturdays working on projects and though Brandon likes being a handyman, i think Coleton likes the projects more!

#5 We love visiting Brandon when we can!

Coleton really likes heading to the seminary and seeing Brandon. Coleton really loves drawing on the dry erase board.

Some draw backs are...

We don't enjoy the wind..

Brandon put up my fall scare crow and the newt morning it was gone! The wind blew him away but no need to worry we found him!!

Another thing I don't enjoy are the bugs like this one....

it is huge! really bad picture of it but we found it outside of our garage!! I think it was a young tarantula but Brandon just thinks it was the biggest spider he had ever seen!!
